For sale: 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC Coupe.    This car is very clean. strong. comfortable. quick. a true survivor that's ready years of service and enjoyment.  These cars offered all the luxury and advanced (for the time) safety features of the sedans. not to mention their elegant and timeless styling. nbsp;but with the added panache of a sexy. low-slung. pillar-less coupe.   Hemming's. Sports and Exotic Car. (2016. December. describes the 560 SEC it as “utterly timeless” and “truly usable modern classic. ”  This example is Perlmutt grau. (MB 122 gray metallic. over blue leather interior.   From the records I have. “she” was in storage when I bought her and many years prior in TX and CA which helped keep her rust-free.   The years of southern heat and a lack of proper maintenance; cracked the dashboard. nbsp;seized the sunroof mechanics. clouded & de-laminated the rear window. caused a drooping headliner and other smaller repair items needed attention. not anymore!  I did find a solid running drive train (typical W126. working HVAC. a rust-free body and with great lines.

Today this SEC features a fully functional glass moon roof that wasn't offered by Mercedes on W126 chassis cars until 1992 W140 chassis cars. Take a look at Benzworld. org for how to's.    Also. a new headliner and sunroof cable.  The dashboard was professionally replaced.  A/C was converted to R134 in the Spring '15 and was still very cold this past '16 season. Tinted windows help cooling.   Also new; front Bilstein heavy duty shocks with progressive rate H&R springs. front tie rods and ball joints. front brake calipers and cross-drilled front rotors that  improved stopping.   As preventative maintenance the timing chain and chain guides were replaced.   New brake master cylinder.   Also replaced are the headlights with original Hella euro spec SEC units and a new hood pad.   16" rims- 8 hole style Benz wheels.  All power windows work.  There's also a new rear window with MB oem seal.  Stereo head unit is a Pioneer- pop-up screen w. bluetooth/cd/dvd w all new speakers.  Undercarriage is rust free and very clean.   I changed the yacht size w126 steering wheel to slightly smaller w124 e320 wheel for a better look/feel. I have the original wheel for purists.  I even found a guy who fitted a self-dimming. built in compass. w/ smartlink - rear view mirror on my mirror bracket. why not!   Interior is very nice. no wear spots or holes common with driver's seat.   Both seat belt extenders work.    All trim is in very nice condition.

If I had the space I would keep her.   I know what the average SEC looks like and where they rust and break. but this car is special.  At 30yrs old. if you want show car. this one is 90% there.   You will find SEC's listed for $14-20K (about 2x more) with fewer miles. but at 139. xx the average is very low.   I'm only selling because I don't have the garage space.

I am selling the car locally and reserve the right the end the auction early.
