1951 MERCURY CONVERTIBLE

 This 1951 Mercury Lead Sled Convertible is all that. LEAD! This is an award winning show car built by a well known Mercury enthusiast. Al Jacobs. This car was a frame off and built to very high standards. I would consider this car to be a high #2 car and within easy reach of a #1 again.

100%  METAL.

10k TOTAL MILES ON RESTORATION

 THIS MERCURY WAS APPRAISED AT 75k in 2010 by a very competent appraiser here in the North West. He has appraised at least 10 of my cars and is very well known in this area.

  The paint is magnificent with only the most minimal of flaws from use only. This is a 1990 Ford Mustang color with gold flake and a lot of shine. ABSOLUTELY NO BUBBLES AND COMPLETELY RUST FREE!. The body is flawless and straight as a laser. There are 100's of hours in the body alone. Everything was redone in this car and to build one of this caliber now you would spend close to 100k.

The flathead V8 was 100% fresh when installed and has been maintained throughout the last 20 years. She has headers and lake pipes and sounds very good. She gets driven about 400-600 miles a year and that is mostly for shows or the nice weekend drive. She runs out beautifully and has never left anyone stranded. The manual gearbox is in excellent shape as well. You can drive her anywhere and she has not had over heating issues.

 

The interior is obviously a throwback custom and really compliments the car. Still in real fine shape. The drivers seat shows a very small bit of wear but far from anything serious. The back seat is near new. The carpets. door panels and dash are in fine shape. The speedometer is inop because the speedo cable gears are stripped. She will need a new one if you care.   All the windows work. some a little slower then others but they work. Nice CD player and speakers.  

  THE RESERVE IS WAYYYY LOWER THEN THE APPRAISAL.
