1957 Porsche 356

"Is this car a replica?"  . a question you will likely never hear.  Because this car is not black or silver like many other replicas. everyone believes it is the real deal. The paint color and interior colors are authentic to the 1957 Speedster and this was a combination offered by the factory at the time. In fact. the Porsche family has this exact color combination in their collection.  Even guys that know better. will argue over the authenticity of the car. Bring it to car meet-ups (eg Cars & Coffee). step back and watch people stare and take pictures.  
More great news!  This car was hand built by John Steele of JPS Motorsports. They build extremely high quality cars to spec and then stand behind them for the life of the car.  
CONDITIONSince the car was finished in 2014. it has barely been driven (2851 miles) and garaged the entire time. Every element of the car looks brand new or nearly brand new. There are no dents. dings or mechanical problems with the car. It was built on a 1969 VW bug chassis and is registered as such. The convertible top is in new condition and I have a tonneau cover and side window screens also all in new condition.  
FEATURESI have gone to great lengths to preserve the authentic look of this car. Features include:2166cc newly built engine which puts out nearly 140bhp. The gearing ratio has also been modified so that you can cruise at 65+ on the freeway. High-end Alpine radio and speakers hidden under the dash board (since no radio came with the 1957) - Bluetooth compatible with Apple connector. Yellow fog lamps were traditionally installed in Germany and Austria at the time and are included with this car. The original cars had rubber mats instead of the replica coco mats you see today - looks way more authenticThe license plate is original from 1969 and was very hard to come by. but is fully registered and comes with the car (adding to it's authenticity - check out other replicas with new license plates - a dead give away)Moon hub caps were original in 1957 and frequently replaced in 1959 with the Porsche crest nipple hubs. but the if you want authentic. it's all moon caps like this carThe brakes on a 1957 Speedster were all drums. However. this car has been upgraded to 4-wheel disc brakes in order to allow for the extra power and torque of the upgraded engineFor those chilly nights. I had heaters installed in the seats which keep you nice and warmBecause it is registered as a 1969 VW. it is exempt from smog regulations and will never require a smog checkOriginal period badges throughout
HISTORYI am the original owner of this Speedster since it was built new in 2014. The chassis came from a previous owner before it was completely refurbished and reinforced for use in this car. I had the car built by JPS Motorsports in North Hollywood. California. It took nearly 9 months to complete from start to finish and was completed in 2014.
