1985        & ½  AMC Jeep CJ-7 Renegade 4x4

Very rare automatic with power steering. This is the year and model the collectors are after!

This is your BARN FIND!

  LAST OF THE GREAT BREED

1985 was the last full production year of the CJ. There was a few built in 86 but 85 was the last full year. This is one of the last original AMC Jeep CJ's to roll off the assembly line ending an era that began with the legendary Jeep of World War II

This is an all-original. unmolested rust free survivor. No accidents or body repairs and a clear. clean title. Only two owners.

I've owned this jeep for 20 years. It is one of the nicest. most original CJs left in existence today. This CJ has been meticulously cared for.   Other than having an aftermarket CD player. center console and back seat this jeep is as original as it was when it left the factory in 1985.

I am the second owner and I knew the original owner. This jeep has spent its entire life stored in a climate-controlled shop. Never exposed to extreme heat or cold and it has not seen a drop of rain in over twenty years. It has been off the pavement because it is a jeep but never in extreme places. This jeep has never been stuck in the mud or abused. The motor. transmission. transfer case and hubs work superbly. It's ready to go as a daily driver or take it to car shows. You can drive it home but seeing as it is a classic I would recommend a trailer. It has not even been tagged in over 15 years because it rarely leaves my property except to be driven around the car shows. the gas station and around the neighborhood to keep it in good working condition.

As with any 30+-year-old vehicle would. it does have some small rock chips but very light.

This Jeep is unbelievably nice (an easy 9/10). but not perfect.   As it sits now. the right blinkers illuminate but do not blink and the dash lights do not light up. I'm sure it's a simple fix but I have not had time to run it down. This jeep has had a Nutter Bypass to eliminate the nonsense with the ECM. which is a must for these year models. It starts so fast you cant get your hand off the key fast enough. The paint is 25 years old but given its age I would rate it 7/10. The engine and drive train are an easy 8/10 given its age and the interior and carpet are a 9/10. It drives down the road at 55-70 mph just as smooth as when it was new

My jeep has had one exterior repaint over 24 years ago. and no known bodywork.   The inside of the tub has not been repainted.   The original spot welds on the tub are still visible through the paint. just like they were when it came off the assembly line back in 1985!  The hard top is in excellent overall condition with some minor rock chips. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you'll get. The doors and windows work as they should and seal. as they should. There is one small quarter size surface rust spot under the passenger door that was treated over twenty years ago and has not changed or worsened. It is no bigger than a quarter. The back seat was an add on about 15 years ago and was bought second hand. It does have two small rips on the backside. It sits on a custom built bracket. which gets your passengers up off the floor and has under seat storage. The aftermarket center console and back seat are black denim.

The body and frame are laser straight.   This Jeep. as already mentioned. has absolutely zero rust anywhere other than the small quarter sized spot already mentioned.   All the gauges. controls and heat/defrost work as they should. and everything is original except for the radio (as already mentioned).   The doors close flush and open/close with ease; as they should.   The Jeep drives and shifts flawlessly and the paint looks shiny and the depth is unbelievable.   The original factory front seats are very nice and do not have any cracks anywhere.  Brand new wheels and 10 ply tires with less than 50 miles on them.

This is truly one of the nicest. original CJs left on the road today.   Definitely in the top 5% as far as original AMC Jeeps go.

Rest assured there are no "surprises" that you'll find.   This Jeep is not misrepresented in any way. shape. or form.   What you see is what you get.   Look closely at the photos and you'll see this is a rare gem! The winch plate and fairlead stays with the jeep but the winch does not. My son has a jeep and wants the winch off of it.  This Jeep does have an aftermarket CB radio installed inside the console with a big mouth speaker under the dash. which stays with it.
