1966 Ford Mustang GT Convertible.
According to the low VIN and build date. this is one of the first factory GT convertibles built for the 1966 model year. It had a frame up restoration completed in the early 1990's. And was "freshened up" in January 2013. It received a new paint job. carpet. center console inlay. steering wheel. gas tank. pedals. badging. original AM/FM radio (rare) among other things. The A code 289 was "upgraded" with Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Aluminum Heads. Edelbrock Aluminum Intake Manifold. Comp Cam. Griffin Aluminum Radiator. and new Holley Carburetor. Again. this is a very rare car. Only 4% of all Mustangs built in 1966 were factory GTs (that includes Coupes. Fastbacks. and Convertibles). And only 2% were convertibles with the luxury (Pony) interior. Hence. less than 2% were factory GT convertibles with pony interior. This car was appraised in June 2008 for $63. 00.
The current NADA value range is $64. 50 (avg retail) to $88. 80 (high retail). There are not very many 1966 Mustang GT convertibles left on the road. much less. one as straight and clean as this one.
