This car is a factory Ontario Orange. two top car. with a white convertible top. and as shown; and the not too common black vinyl hardtop. I have been told that the “vinyl hardtop” ordered on 1971 LT-1's was very low. possibly as low as single digits. Only 832 vinyl hard tops were ordered for all 21. 01 Corvette's manufactured in 1971. a little less than 4%.

This is a numbers matching (see photos) drive-train LT-1 Corvette. registered and running in the State Of California with a clean title in my name. These are great looking and performing cars. and while detuned from the 1970 model. and  a bit more user friendly. they certainly could get up and go (0-60 in 6 seconds). and unlike the big block corvette's they handled quite well.

This car looks great from every angle. sitting on correct Firestone Wide Ovals wrapped around factory Rallye Wheels as it should. it visually does what a Corvette is supposed to do.

It is equipped with power steering. power brakes. as born with M-21 4spd. and 370 gearing. with both tops. factory AM/FM Delco radio. and it still has the factory transistorized ignition under the hood.

The carburetor (and I would not have taken notice but the last owner informed me) was swapped out at the Chevrolet dealer sometime after it was new. the model number 6239 indicate that this Holley 780 Double pumper is from a 1972 LT-1 Corvette. The double pumper sits atop the factory aluminum (see Winters mark) intake. At that time the cam had been replaced with a 1972 LT-1 cam. and hydraulic lifters for ease of driving. So. it runs great. starts right up. can light up those Firestone Wide Ovals. but. . .  no solid lifter noise (if that is your thing). But all the parts are easily available online if you want to go back to the solid lifters.

 .

The exterior shows what seems to be one older re-paint over the factory paint. and the paint is worn thin in some areas. it shows well from 20 feet. 15 feet. even 10 feet. but crazing and imperfections are throughout. There has been some minor body work that was not comprehensive in my opinion. and could certainly be lived with. or addressed. along with a new coat of Ontario Orange. The gaps line up. car tracks straight. frame is true. no rust or compromises. But make no mistake this car turns heads!

The factory black vinyl interior is in good condition throughout. as is the original center console.

The dash displays the original speedometer and raised redline tachometer. both functional.

The door panels have some wear on the arm rests. but are certainly presentable and functional. but easily replaced if you so choose.

The carpet is an older aftermarket black cut pile version. factory was loop pile.

The soft products. weather stripping. etc. . needs attention throughout. those parts are easily accessible though. and easy to replace.

Underneath the car. the flooring and original frame work is solid throughout. The shocks function well. and seem to have been replaced not too long ago with some other suspension parts. The car has a solid feel. no body roll or squeaking.

The 4 wheel disc brakes are in great shape and bring the car to a quick stop.

There is a wiper line on the front windshield that should buff out. the glass is in otherwise good shape. The convertible top is in good presentable shape. not perfect. but it looks good and can be put up and down without issue. there is some discoloration on the rear plastic widow. The black vinyl hard top while usable. should be restored or at minimum given some attention.

This 1971 Corvette LT-1 starts right up. shifts properly. tracks straight. stops great. and will knock you back into your seat. The headlights go up and down. no vacuum issues and overall this is a great car to cruise. or give a full on restoration as the Nada Value for a #1 two top 1971 LT-1 is over $70. 00. 00 USD.

This is a rare car. worth a lot of smiles. and earns everyone's thumbs ups. and the C-3 LT-1's are really starting to rise in value. This is a rare one amongst the rare ones. and how many convertible 1971 LT-1's are left with matching numbers?

Everyone loves this car. as do I. but my ability to push in a clutch due to an injury will be compromised for a few years. and so someone else should enjoy this car. as cars should be enjoyed. driven. shown and shared. The car hobby is a great hobby. filled with a lot of great people. and we need to preserve it. so get those cars outta the garage and take them to some local show and shines.

This is your opportunity to own a driver quality LT-1 Corvette ready to enjoy.
