A complete 928 S4 - which hasn't been messed with over the years!
It even has the original Blaupunkt stereo cassette radio!
It is a 1989 automatic model having had 7 previous owners.
I bought this car with the intention to bring it back to as near concourse original as I could. It has a full interior which has not been 'butchered' as is so often the case to fit 12" Kenwood speakers everywhere - it actually has the original factory sound system in place! There are a few minor blemishes and a couple of rust spots around the car but it is in overall great shape for its age and has clearly been a 'pride and joy' car to its previous owners.
When I started it I discovered that the torque tube was very noisy and the car had no reverse gear. I replaced the torque tube hoping that the auto select cable simply needed adjustment to correct the reverse selection issue but further investigation revealed that the reverse gear was completely useless and the gearbox itself clearly had internal issues.
I have now also replaced the gearbox with new oil and filter and the car drives both forwards and backwards. To be honest. this is the reason that I have now chosen to sell the car – I had intended to spend my budget on repairing the minor blemishes and slight rust on some of the body panels and underside and having a full professional re-spray carried out. However. the unforeseen (and costly) issues and subsequent replacement of the gearbox have basically sucked up all (and more!) of the funds I had set aside to do this.
It is a shame for me but a bonus for you as I believe that this car now has the potential to be one of the better examples that you see these days.
The interior is complete there is a small hole in the drivers seat bolster but besides this and a little elbow grease and TLC requires no major work and the engine starts and runs. I have the waistline trim pieces that you can see missing in the photos.
I have not run the engine for very long as I intended to replace the cam belt. plugs. caps. leads and rotor arms etc. in other words fully service / re-commission it. so I don't wish to risk damage by running it before this process. I did replace the oil and filter before turning it over though and then I have simply started it to test the forward / reverse gears before and after replacing the gearbox. There are however no unpleasant or worrying sounds coming from the engine.
The brakes work but I have not stripped / examined the condition etc. As I said at the top. this should be regarded as a re-commission / renovate project from a very good starting point. the speedo miles doesn't work.

I will happily accommodate any viewings prior to the end of the auction and I encourage you to view it first as it is here to sell. I do not want any time wasters who bid and then try to re-negotiate.
Not happening – you will be refused and reported to eBay.

Obviously you will need to collect the vehicle with a trailer - and although a winch would be best. it can be driven on / off if needs be.  End of auction I require £200 none refundable deposit by the winning bidder Remaining funds to be paid in cash or bank transfer with three day end of auction and collected
The car will not be released until cleared funds are received – cash or bank transfer.
(The car will be sold to the highest bidder with out reserve price )
Please feel free to email me or call on 07540176854It's pick up only Thank you for your interest and good luck bidding.
