1995 Rover Mini Sprite 1275cc

The last of the Mini's with a carburettor engine so much easier for DIY mechanics

Logbook shows 3 keepers with it first being registered to the supplying dealership on 5th May 1995.   Lady owner then bought it on 20th May 1995 and kept it until March 2016 having covered 62. 00 miles.   It has been garaged and unused since 2006 other than a brief trip to the MOT station in 2010 when she failed on some subframe corrosion.   It was then put back in the garage until being sold last March to be restored.

Mini has now been restored to it's former glory and comes with MOT until June 2017.   She's had a fresh coat of paint so does polish up really nicely.   The interior is in spotless condition as you'd expect.   The car is in absolutely original condition. not been modified other than DIY fitting of a cigarette lighter to run a sat nav.   It even has the original Rover radio-cassette player.

Runs and drives absolutely 100% and starts first time every time.   Like most Mini's she does leak a drop of oil.   She has just had an oil and filter change and oil is slightly above max on the dipstick so this will probably settle down.    I also suspect that 10W 40 oil has been used for the change and although this is fine in this engine. 20w 50 might have been a better choice as it's slightly thicker.   Dipstick seems a little loose (and looks to be the source of the leak) so may not be sealing correctly.   I'll buy a new one at MiniFair on Sunday
