1976 Daimler Double Six Coupe - XJ Z8750
This is a very rare Daimler Double Six Coupe. Only some 407 were made and only a few have survived with an estimated 9 currently on the road in the UK. making it the model to have of all the XJCs. With the windows down the pillarless look is stunningly beautiful. A double six sold in London recently for £57000. there is one advertised on classic and performance car for £45000. There are basket cases under £10. 00 that will need £30. 00 - £50. 00 thrown at them. There is one listed in London that requires some panel work. a full respray and has rusty panels for £19. 00. So someone will grab a bargain here.  
This car has been subject to a nut and bolt restoration. I have the photos of the restoration showing every aspect of the restoration from the body and structure through to the engine. transmission. brakes. suspension and chrome etc. It is not a patchwork quilt of welded plates. It has a stainless exhaust system.  
This car left the factory as a V12 5. 3L Daimler Double Six Coupe.  Previous owners had removed the thirsty 5. 3 V12 due to mechanical problems and a 4. 2L straight 6 was fitted.  The car is still registered as a 5. 3L.  It could be put back to V12 format if someone wanted to but you would have to source a pre-HE V12 engine.  
I priced this up and £6000 would see a fully rebuilt and detailed V12 with a recon box back under the bonnet. You could do it much cheaper if you wanted to use a good second hand V12. There was a running Pre-HE on here with gearbox for under £1. 00 last week and a TWR one for £2. 00.  
The car was recommissioned earlier this year when it had a new 4. 2 engine fitted by jaguar specialists at a cost of over £3500. It also had the gearbox completely rebuilt at a cost of nearly £2000. It also had electronic ignition fitted.  

The car is in fantastic condition. the underside and wheel arches are spotless. the chrome is bright against the blemish free deep black bodywork. The engine bay is tidy and clean.  If there was one criticism it would be the headlining is begining to sag. The photos show it with and prior to the private plate (XJ Z8750) which goes with the car. It went for it's MOT a couple of weeks back and flew through the MOT with no work needed. I drive it once or twice a weekend usually to the airport. Clink on the video link to her cruising.
