There are genuine reasons for sale. I have been faced with having to sell my beloved mini. as I am soon moving for the third year of my degree in September into a flat. meaning that the mini cannot come with me!
1 Previous owner. on current style V5C and 66. 00 genuine miles on original speedometer and supported by paperwork. She (Yes she's a girl. this is non-negotiable!) started life in East Sussex. and now lives in Northamptonshire - near Peterborough. I have an extensive set of documents sequenced in a file. from the 1960's up until now. including the original purchase receipt!
I have owned. and been restoring her slowly over the course 3 years now into a period style 60's style historic race mini. She was recently given a new full-skirt front panel. NS front wing and repainted in her original colour. Island Blue.
The mini has it's original registration and is still in it's original shell.
Engine fitted is a se7en spec:
A+ 998cc +20" (1014cc) pocketed block and machined centre main strapEarly Flat-Type 1275cc 11-Stud 12G940 head "W" valves - seriously well ported and polishedKent 286 camshaftPolished 12A1451R crankshaft and rodsEarly-Type Pressed Steel 1. 3 rockersManiflow Stage 2 LCB manifold and Maniflow single box center-exit 1. 75" exhaustMED SCCR box and transfer gears. 4. 33 X-pin diff (Gearbox recently refurbished)MED ultra light flywheel. MED ultra light back-plate. AP racing clutch. orange fast-road diaphragmGenuine KAD Early-Type quickshiftWeber 45 DCOE carburettor MED extreme race radiator. 6-blade export fanMocal oil catch tank connected to transfer housing. fuel pump take-off and tappet chest cover Mocal 13-row oil cooler and stainless braided hosesLucas 59D4 distributor. with vacuum advance removed and Aldon Ignitor electronic ignition module fitted
The mini is fitted with a full FIA approved safety devices roll-cage with a fixed rear diagonal. in satin black. The steering wheel I purchased privately. and is the very sought after flat Springall 'Works' type. 'Works'-style dash. with Early-Type Lucas fusebox on passenger side. The drivers side has a completely refurbished Early-Style lettering Smiths 8k rev-counter (The RVC type electronic rev-counter does work but it reacts strangely and misreads higher through the rev range. I believe this is due to the Aldon Ignitor 'I' electronic ignition module mimicking a points style system). There are also genuine matching Lucas switches mounted on the drivers side. There is a Paddy Hopkirk correct period accelerator pedal extension fitted. Brand new Bosch S6 battery fitted recently. The mini has some early mk1 features. such as a floor starter button. pull-string door handles. brass heater tap. chrome window catches. 1959 interior mirror. recirculatory heater + rheostat switch - mounted on the correct flat OEW switch panel. Extremely rare NOS Britax 3-point harnesses. which have recently been fitted. The interior seats and door cards are all original. and understandably the last 47 years has brought some marks. but the seats have very good bases and the sponge is still very good. The carpet is a full Newton commercial grey set. and is of great quality. but similarly has marks of age.
The car was converted from it's broken Hydrolastic suspension system. to Gaz fully adjustable shocks all round. with hi-lo's and new cones fitted also. Both subframes are the original MOWOG items. twin-bolt solid mounted front subframe. Genuine AP 7. 5" new disc-brake setup up front. with red painted calipers and Goodridge braided hoses all round. Genuine Minispares 10" 'Rose Petal' wheels (as used by most FIA APP K historic racers) with very recently fitted Yokohama A032R 'Aquajet' tyres all round.
I also have an authentic 60's winter grille muff to go with the car. in very good condition.
I've tried to be as honest as possible. she is a solid example but isn't concours by any means. However it is a lovely running mini. ready to drive away. that has lots of character and has brought me endless amounts of happiness and attention everywhere I have been.
Located near Peterborough. Northamptonshire. just off of the A1.
Any questions. please ask! Unfortunately no PX. sorry.
Thanks
