A 1971 Austin Mini Cooper Mk3. that's been completely restored and rebuilt in the style of a Works Cooper from the 60's. A yearlong restoration. that began by returning the shell to bare metal and replacing any damaged panels with new OEM ones. It was then epoxy primed. sealed. and spray painted inside and out. The underside and wheel arches have been sprayed with Herculiner. providing an extremely durable corrosion resistant finish. Suffice to say this car is rust free and will remain so for a very long time!

To match the detailed  restoration of the body. the 1275cc engine was stripped and given a magnaflux dip. The cylinder head resurfaced and new valves and seals added. The 4 cylinders were machined by +040"and new pistons added making it a 1310cc. It was then rebuilt with a new oil pump. water pump. timing chain/gears. gaskets. seals. core plugs. spark plugs and wires. distributor. alternator and starter motor. in fact every nut and bolt was replaced.

The 3 into1 LCB exhaust manifold is wrapped in titanium heat shielding and joins to the new RC40 single muffler system. The 1 ¾” SU carburetor has been rebuilt with new seals. needle. and K&N air filter to complete a stage 1 engine upgrade.

The cooling system has been upgraded with an alloy radiator. new hoses. and a electric auxiliary fan for hot days.

The 4 speed manual gearbox was stripped. cleaned. and rebuilt. and provides a smooth shift every time.

The wiring system was custom made by a professional. and wrapped in period looking cloth tape with Lucas decals.

The Braking system uses front 7. 5” discs and rear drums. the front set up is brand new. and the rear was refurbished using new pistons and pads. The entire brake system was replaced using new copper pipes. and front and rear braided steel flexible lines. The master Cylinder was rebuilt using new seals. as was the clutch master and slave cylinder.

The wheels are 10x5” Minilites (100+) with new (less than 1000 miles) Yokohama A060 Tires. The suspension uses adjustable “hi-lows”. adjustable “Gaz” shock absorbers. and adjustable camber brackets on the rear.

The interior has period rally Corbeau bucket seats. alloy door handles and winders. rare Moto-lita wood steering wheel. adjustable steering column. 3 dial center binnacle. Works style rally dash panels with tachometer on driver side. and working stopwatch. map light. and a replica Halda Tripmaster (maybe you can find a real one!) on the co-driver side.

The Trunk (boot) has a refurbished gas tank with Monza cap. light weight dry cell Odyssey battery with shut off switch. and working rear mount Lucas fog lamp as the reverse light.

The exterior has been painted Old English White with a contrasting black roof. Mk1 rear lights. Mk1 front grille with mustache. chrome bumpers with over-riders and corner bars. chrome side molding. leather bonnet strap. 4 chrome front fog lamps on rally light bar with period Lucas covers. The look is completed with period rally decals and roof rack.

Since its rebuild. the engine was broken in with oil changes at the correct intervals. using racing oil containing zinc for classic flat tappet engines. The miles on the dash obviously don't correspond to what basically amounts to a new car. but I've probably driven it for less than 1500 trouble free miles.

Its starts every time and makes a great daily driver. I've used it to commute. pick up the kids. grab groceries. and taken it to a couple of shows. Needless to say it drives great and is tons of fun here on the twisty California back roads!

The winning bidder is to arrange shipping or pick up.  Good luck!
