Selling my 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle. Bought it a few years ago with the hopes of doing a full restoration but do not have the time or money to finish the project at the moment. I believe it to be a great starting point for someone else. It is road ready now and can be driven however there is obviously work to do for a fully restored muscle car. I had plans to paint the vehicle so I sanded off the red paint and white stripes that were on it when I purchased the car. Right now it is covered in a black primer. When I first bought the car it had a weak frame so I had my mechanic strengthen it. Would probably need a new frame if you are doing a total restoration but the frame on it now is strong enough to drive with. The trunk is solid enough to use but you can see from the picture it is not in perfect condition. The rear deck above the backseat is rotted through. I painted it black and have a rear package tray to cover as a temporary fix. All the turn signals and headlights work as far as I am aware.  The "paint job" overall is not in good condition as you can see in the pictures.  The roof is in the worst paint condition of the body. There is the most peeling and rough spots there.           Currently there are drum brakes on all 4 wheels. I do have a brand new front disc brake conversion kit from Right Stuff Detailing still sitting in the boxes in the garage that I can include at an additional cost if you are interested.
The power steering does not work. It was set up to be power steering before I got it but that does not work so to steer this it takes quite a bit of work. The windows are manual windows.            The 454 engine in there is not original. It was built for a Chevy truck but the owner decided to sell it. I removed the engine from the truck and put it in the Chevelle. I do not know how many miles are on it but believe it to be extremely low. The odometer of the car reads 39. 63 however that is NOT the mileage of the 454 engine and I have not owned the Chevelle long enough to know if that is the actual mileage of the vehicle (although I have no reason to doubt its authenticity). The engine is very loud and very fast. Probably too fast for drums brakes which is why I was beginning to put disc brakes on the front. The car generates a lot of power. It could use a bit of tuning because it does not like to idle. It takes some feathering of the pedal when in park or sitting still to keep it going. Most of the value of this vehicle comes from the engine. The previous owner said that he had about $6. 00 in the engine alone. It is very fun to drive.            The floor pans are brand new along with the carpeting and front seats. The back bench seat is solid but would need to be reupholstered to get the top and bottom colors to match. The tires and rims were put on a few years ago and are still in great shape. The rims are black 17 inch Ridler rims with 245/50 General G Max tires.            If there is anything I forgot or if you are wondering about anything else let me know and I will answer as quickly and as honestly as I can. Thanks for the interest!
