For the uninitiated. the 2002 Turbo is an exceptionally rare car.   It was the first European car ever to be fitted with a turbo.    Hard to imagine today how frighteningly quick this car was.   It ate all its competition e. g Lotus Cortina's. Escort RS's etc.   No one had experienced the impact that the turbo had on performance.

This actual car. not one of them. not one like it. but this actual car being Chassis No. 1.   The first ever produced of the 2002 Turbo was the first European production car to ever be fitted with the turbo.   It's hard to overestimate the historical interest of this car.   It is the forerunner to all the M series cars high performance BMW world dominating cars that we have today.

The car itself. pre accident. was totally immaculate with a genuine 80. 00 kms from new complete with original service history book and nigh on impossible to find original drivers handbook.   With me being the 2nd only UK owner in the past 30 years and obviously the fact that it was the first ever produced contributes to this actual car being the best of its type in the world.

To my knowledge. this is the only BMW first of the production line (No. 1)of any model in private ownership outside of the BMW collection in the world.

Truly. if any car can ever be referred to as being of true historical interest. this is it.   You can imagine my horror when some ****** ran into me.

The car has sustained offside frontal damage as you can see from the photos.   It will need frontal panels. radiator. spoiler. bonnet. wing etc.   It has also sustained quite heavy damage to the inner wing and offside chassis rail.   This is clearly serious accident damage.   This may be able to be straightened or may require a new inner wing and chassis rail. This is no big deal to any competent repairer.

This is probably the one and only chance that you will ever get to buy such a car at such a price.   To all you dreamers out there.  genuine Turbo's  in good order are making circa 40k.   I am looking for around half this.  

Please do not ring. email. or text require further photos of the damage because I cannot send them.   The serious buyer will come and see this car before they buy.
