Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 538 votes
Rare original Series 1 manual CSI in stunning condition after having recently undergone a detailed. yet sympathetic restoration. Believed to be one of only 15 left on the road in the UK with only 207 being originally built.

A beautiful example finished in original colour of Granatrot (red) metallic with desireable black interior. It's a genuine original fuel injected example and not a modified CS or 2800 model and one of only a very limited number of right hand drive models made. Also. the CSI is far rarer than the CSL model.

It has has very few owners in it's near 40 year life - The last owner (a close family friend) purchased the car in 1984 and had spent much over the years keeping it in excellent condition. It underwent a major body restoration (with pictires to show the work) in 2002 which addressed all of the typical weak areas that they known to eventually corrode in. including;
Inner sillsOuter sillsWingsA pillar repairsDoorsBonnetBoot lid Lower valances No E9 in existance is going to have original panels that haven't succumed to the dreaded rust in some way so get a specialist like MJF to check it out if in any doubt. The work mentioned above has been executed beautifully and there is a photographic record of the work done that will be included with the car. It has also been featured in the lastest issue of Classic & Sportscar magazine where it was compared to the Daimler Double Six. Mercedes 450 SLC and Fiat 130 Coupe. It looks fantastic in the pictures.

I have backed this up over my three years of ownership with a large amount of additional work from E9 specialists MJF Engineering and Little Compton Garage. including;
Interior refurbishment with new carpets. head lining. restored original steering wheel. various trim parts and dashboard wood refurbish - it looks great in there now. Full brake rebuild including new calipers. pipes. discs. pads. hoses. handbrake cables and fluidFull body refurbishment and respray in original colourIt has also recently had an electrical refresh to make the car more reliable on a day-to-day basis including upgraded alternator. new fully electronic ignition. new starter motor. distributer cap. rotor arm. new fuel pump. temperature sender. updated fuel filter. modern relays and an under-bonnet cut-off switch to help easily disconnet the battery for when the car is not being used. These sensible and undetectable updates make improve reliability hugely and make uit far less likely to break down as well as making it cleaner running. meaning lower emissions. better economy and less wear on the engine due to correct ignition and fuelling. It also makes it much easier to start from cold. something original E9's were very good at even when new.

The car has been kept to the original specification throughout - The full list of items restored / renewed is too long to show here and no stone has been unturned to create this excellent. zero-rust example. It has a full UK MOT and passed it's last one first time. There is a huge and detailed file of history and bills dating back to when then car was new - The second owner. for example. nbsp; was the-then managing director of Lloyds of London. HPI clear and has never been in an accident and would be fine to export to Hong Kong. Australia. New Zealand. Japan etc.

A very rare. beautiful annd appreciating and sought after classic which is ready to be enjoyed for years to comne. The car is located in Wellingborough Northants (NN29) and i'd be happy to conduct a viewing.
