1965 Austin Mini Cooper mk1 Project*Genuine cooper with service history and mot's from new and lots of spares!* Chassis number C-A2S7-728***Engine Number  9FD SA H7***
Reluctantly selling my 65 Cooper which I bought earlier this year with the intension to restore it over summer months. unfortunately I have not had the time to even begin doing it and with working away reality means I should let it go to someone who will it back back on the road.
I will describe it as acurately as I can as viewing may be difficult what with being out of town. it's currently kept in a dry secure garage.
The car itself has been off the road since 1997 and stored in a barn. prior to this it sat outside for a couple of years which took it's toll on the bodywork. It's a genuine 998cc cooper with correct and original vin tag and I believe the original engine also. The service and MOT records are fantastic. almost every MOT from 1968 until 1997 (when it was last on the road) and loads of service and parts invoices. old v5 etc. New style v5 will need to be applied for as car was sorned years back. Currently showing 43000 mls this will be 143000 as Indicated by the mot's. I'm not a Mini expert as such but did my research before buying it.
At some point it has been converted into competition spec. I would estimate late 70's. hence it has a roll cage. bucket seats & harness' fitted. The Mini was also repainted Red from it's original Snowberry White.  It was running fine when put off the road and I'm advised from a good source the engine was very potent for a 998 so suspect some tuning may have been carried out. The cylinder bores were oiled before it was put away and the engine turns over freely. I have not attempted to start it but I'm more than confident some fresh fuel and a battery will see it fire into life.
Bodywork wise it obviously does require restoration. Some good points are; Floor pans are generally solid and from what I can make out are generally patch free. Inner wings and inner wheel arches again are generally solid and patch free. Boot floor is reasonable bar some corrosion along the right hand seam. Sub frames appear generally solid although with plenty surface corrosion.
I have a lot of original and good reproduction panels and parts to go with it. original Austin cooper tailgate with folding number plate bracket and original bonnet which are both in good condition. Also have the original grey and red front seats which do require work. Good reproduction front wings. a couple apex panels and a later rear panel. Have the correct twin carbs ready to fit as it currently has a single carb fitted.
Area's requiring replacement are. front panel. both wings. apex panels and drivers side sill. Ideally fit replacement doors although these could be re-skinned and repaired.
There are area's of corrosion that will require localised repairs around the roof gutter and a small section below rear window (have panel for this) What appears to be mainly surface corrosion around rear panel seams (it's solid on the inside if you look from inside the boot) Some small repairs to boot floor and other usual small bits and pieces. Someone asked about the boot board brackets which you can see where they have been originally fitted & removed above the battery in boot / luggage compartment picture. Please keep in mind you are looking at a nearly 50 year old Mini that requires work but I have seen much worse!
A rare opportunity to acquire a genuine Austin Cooper with a complete history file that will be a relatively straight forward restoration for someone that has restored Mini's in the past.

£200 paypal deposit will be required at the end of the auction & it will need to be collected by trailer from Aberdeen. Balance by cash on collection or transfer cleared in advance.
It's here to be sold. so bid to buy. No reserve!
Thanks for looking.
