CLASSIC 1989 MINI CITY AUSTIN METRO 1275 MINT

Hello. you are looking at the auction of my beloved 1989 Mini City E 1000

She has been very well looked after throughout her life and is currently running a modified Metro 1275 engine with HIF44 carb.

The car has been resprayed inside and out in Volvo Magic Blue which is a pearlescent paint and looks fantastic. especially on sunny days. The roof is Old English white. which goes very well with the blue. She sits on a set of 13x7 Minilite alloys with a full set of Yokohama A539's that have about 3000 miles on them. so easily legal all round.

As far as I am aware the entire front end was replaced about 2 years ago. the floors are original. sills are original and in fantastic condition (as can be seen). boot floor and all rear panels are also all original and in fantastic condition. The underside of the car has been stonechipped. including inside the wheel arches. and then sprayed/painted with waxoyl. The inside of the car has also been stonechipped and then professionally fitted with new underlay and carpet throughout. The headlining and rear seat have been taken out and cleaned and are in fantastic condition. The car has genuine. full leather Cobra bucket seats along with a  Phillips head-unit and 2 JBL (Harmann) 6x9 speakers on the parcel shelf which sound fantastic. It also has a full. stainless Fletcher 2" exhaust system which makes a hell of a noise and looks great!

Recently the car has had brand new front wheel bearings. a new steering rack. nbsp;rear drivers side axel bearing replaced. nbsp;new uprated KYB gas shocks all round. new front brake discs and pads along with a brand new lightweight radiator.

The Metro 1275 is a fantastic little engine. starts first time every time. runs smoothly. has never let me down. sounds incredible and pulls fantastically in all gears. The car is MOT'd until June 2014. having passed with flying colours last week. nbsp;and taxed for the next few months.

Bad Points

The paint needs a seriously good polish by somebody who knows that they're doing. As can be seen in the pictures it does come up nicely when cleaned but there is still a bit to be desired. as can be seen in person.

There is a scratch on the right of the boot which you may be able to see in one of the pictures.

The wheels could do with a refurb as the lacquer has been chipped a lot by stones. since the wheels have so much dish!

Passenger window is quite stiff.

The bonnet catch is a bit dodgy but I'll show you the way to open it if you come and view the car!

And that's it really. rust is absolutely minimal with the fairly recent panel replacement and respray. and also as the underside has been looked after so well with waxoyl etc.

With the car I will also be throwing in a box of spares worth about £120. including camber adjustment brackets. adjustable hi los. a spare suspension cone. previous radios. rubber seals. poly bushes etc.
