FORD SIERRA SAPPHIRE RS COSWORTH 4X4
First registered october 16th 1991.
Moonstone blue (the best colour).
Only 4 previous keepers.
115562 miles.
Alarmed and immobilised.
I have owned this car for three and a half years now and it still puts a smile on my face every time i drive it. I spent three months and drove around 1200 miles looking for a good honest car. I found this one in essex and it had been parked up in a heated garage for 5 years. After a 1 hour telephone conversation i set off on a 300 mile round trip to go and have a look. When i arrived i spotted that the car still had all its original panels including front wings a you can tell by the date stamps that were done in the factory. (i knew at this point that the car had never been in a accident). The car had done 111559 miles. The worst points on the car were a bit of corrosion on the passenger front door under the window ( common place). laquer peeling off passenger side front and rear doors. both front wings starting to corrode on the lips near the wheels and surface rust on the rear of both sills (common area). This car was definately going home with me as i knew it had no signs of accident damage and it was 95% solid and had never had any welding done. Modifications on the car when i bought it were. T34 turbocharger. bosch green injectors. 3 bar map sensor. uprated chip in the ecu. complete stainless steel exhaust. grooved front brake discs. goodridge braided brake hoses. silicone coolant / boost hoses. alarm and immobiliser. cd player.
In winter 2010 the car was taken off the road and i started to work to get the car to how i wanted it to be. assenger side front door replaced. I didn't really want to remove the original wings but decided it would be better in the long run to replace them with new genuine ford wings as i didn't want to be in the same position a few years down the line. rust at the back of the sills was cut out and repaired using new metal. the car was then painted the original colour by a professional bodyshop and all panels treated with waxoyl. I decided this would also be a good time to remove the engine and overhaul it to the same spec. The car was then reassembled and mot was done on 28th september 2011 with 113216 miles on the clock.
Other jobs that have been done are. nbsp;New fuel tank and all boot floor cleaned and treated with waxoyl while it was off. Ap 6 paddle ceramic clutch. New t34 turbocharger core. Koni shock absorbers fitted all round 9 ( always been on the softest setting) but standard springs to retain standard height for standard appearance and ride quality. Original shock absorbers will go with the car. New coolant expansion tank. Genuine ford. New headlamp reflectors. All four wheels refurbished and new tyres. K&N panel filter. fits in standard air filter housing. Clear repeater lamps fitted in wings. New genuine ford rubber skirt fitted to bottom of front bumper. New 044 fuel pump. genuine bosch. New tdc. distributor phase sensor and coolant temperature sensor. New distributor cap. rotor arm and ht leads. There are more jobs than these been done but i can't remember them all as the. car was bought to keep and i never intended to sell it.
There are a few minor faults with the car but remember it is nearly 22 years old. these are. eadlining sagging above rear seats. (common problem). Laquer deteriating on drivers side front wheel. (only noticeable if you look closely. nbsp;tried to show this in pictures). Slight oil leak on engine. I think there are about three small stone chips on the front of the car. These faults are nothing major. i am just keeping the listing honest. Remember this car is nearly 22 years old.
I have done less than 4000 miles in the while i have owned it and it never goes out in wet weather if i can help it. I have mainly used it to attend classic car shows with the rs owners club but due to other commitments i am struggling to find time to attend shows and the car spend most of the time locked away. I would hate for it to start and deteriate due to sitting around and feel its time to let someone else enjoy it rather than i going to rack and ruin.
The insurance only costs me three hundred pounds a year on a Boncaster classic car policy.

Car will come  with 2 keys and 2 key fobs for the alarm/immobiliser.
To sum it up this is a good solid car with year of life left in it. NOT a patch work quilt. not full of rust. rot or body filler like most of the ones i went to look at.
Viewing is recommended so you can appreciate what a stunning example this is of a classic icon.  
Any test drives i will be driving. So DON'T expect to turn up and thrash it to within an inch of its life.
