Hello. you are looking at an Austin 1100 Lightspeed Magenta with a pretty rare factory hardtop with gullwing doors. I have the V5c in my name. the car was inspected recently by VOSA to confirm it is ok as the last logbook had not been changed for over twenty years. the car passed its inspection without any problems and the updated logbook was issued. body type is listed as coupe. there are no special notes listed on the new V5c though the old log book did have the description Kit car manufactured from new parts supplied by manufacturer on it. The car was garaged in 1983 after it overheated and the headgasket was suspected. it never got repaired and the owner moved south leaving it in his brothers garage. the brother worked overseas and so it lay there until I saw it one day on a rare occasion the owners brother was home. I managed to persuade his brother to sell me the car and I had every intention of restoring it however space time and work commitments mean it makes more sense to pass it on. it would be an easy restoration in my opinion requiring a new rear subframe as the original looks very corroded. the brakes are going to need an overhaul and the engine spins over freely and tried to fire but didnt quite catch probably due to poor compression due to the headgasket problem. it has a good pair of Corbu bucket seats. it has seat belts fitted but they look a bit tired. it has a full set of five wolfrace slot mag wheels with BF Goodrich tyres that look like they have had hardly any use at all they are 13" diameter low profile and really wide and look fantastic and very period correct for the car. the interior is is good clean condition and the instruments are all working as far as I can tell. the headlights work I havnt checked the rears. the bodywork has some scratches here and there anda crack on the rear apron where it looks like a reversing accident has cracked it but it looks a very easy repair and will be mainly hidden by the rear number plate. the suspension is the hydraulastic but is not holding pressure on one side but I have had an airline on it and can hear a leak at the rear so probably an easy fix. the car will need to be trailered away. its an ideal winter project especially if you dont want to do any welding its all just nuts and bolts stuff and should be a great little sportscar when done. call me with any questions
