1966 VW BEETLE BASED BEACH BUGGY-ROADSTER-HOT ROD-SPECIAL

This is a unique VW beetle based one off special. is it a BEACH BUGGY or ROADSTER or HOT ROD  I don't know but it is unique and what you see is what you get so please study the pictures or view it before you bid.

It's not a kit but hand built using the original VW chassis spline  and running gear. A new steel floor has been added along with a steel body which was then skinned in aluminium. A lot of effort went into the construction and it's  build so well it looks like you could stand on the wings with-out them bending!!!

I know very little about the car. A friend got it to tow behind his camper but his wife doesn't like the attention it gets so  it has to go. The car weighs around 700kg so it's legal to tow on a standard "A" frame which fits very well to the VW axle and a tow socked for the rear lights has been fitted (fly lead include). I have tow this car on an "A" frame from Swindon and Nottingham and back with no problems. Mechanical it's all VW Beetle but the engine has been replaced with what  I believe is an early 1200cc unit  which would benefit from a good tune-up. (there is no noticeable end-float on the crank).

The brakes has been renewed through out with the later duel circuit master cylinder fitted.

A new 12v alternator conversion fitted. new battery. re-wired ect.

Genuine CYCLONE wheels fitted with new front tyres.

The V5 log book reads MAKE= VW. MODEL=SPORTS so registering it in Europe should be easier.

MOTed until August 2017. tax exempt (1966)

I will consider P/X on any thing from a camper to a unfinished project so W. H. Y.
