2004 Ford F-150 Heritage

Two owner 2004 (Heritage) F150 XLT. originally owned by the Dallas Airport Fire Inspector's Office. This is not a work truck like most of the Ford factory CNG pickups out there- it was driven by the fire inspector. never leaving the airport. and now has been my commuter vehicle to the office for the last two years.   In nice shape for the age & miles.

Hard to find version with extended cab & power windows. power locks. keyless entry. power mirrors. adjustable steering wheel. I bought and drove three different regular cab/long bed versions of this truck before I was fortunate to find this one in Dallas. Gov'ts. fleets. etc would order a whole bunch of the regular cab/long bed/XL work trucks and then maybe one of these extended cab XLTs for a supervisor or whoever.

Approx. 165. 00 miles. Still low for a CNG. Have always run Mobil 1 Synthetic in engine.

White. extended cab. short bed with "Jason" brand hard shell locking cover.

OEM Bi-fuel CNG from the factory.

Installed a new GFI pressure regulator 4/4/15. The 03-04s do not have the dreaded "compuvalve. they have a very simple and reliable solenoid valve that switches between gasoline & CNG. all computer functions are built into the regular computer system of the vehicle.

Front end redone with Moog parts: upper control arms w/ ball joints. lower ball joints. inner & outer tie rod ends. idle arm. and sway bar links. Only part not replaced was pittman arm since it was in good shape. Also added a Moog cam bolt kit for more precise front-end alignment. Had new front wheel bearings installed just a couple months ago before the . ranson road trip.

Replaced rear differential cover with a Ford finned aluminum cover and added new BG synthetic gear oil.

New front & rear brakes in 2014.

Replaced the Heat/AC blend door actuator & blend door. (This can be an issue with the 97-03 models). so you won't have to worry about that.

(1) steel. type I. CNG tank from the factory. approx 13gge rated capacity. Approx 150 mi range on CNG. then the system automatically switches over to gasoline. Regular sized gasoline tank underneath.

Body & interior in nice shape.

Factory cloth 60/40 bench seat.

7700 Series = 3/4 ton chassis. larger rotors. trans & oil coolers. larger radiator & alternator. etc.

No rust. truck has always been in Dallas & OKC.

Recently drove it to Branson & back. Super solid. reliable truck. has given me zero issues. Clean gray cloth interior.

Smooth. quiet ride.

No leaks. drips. or seeping underneath.

A/C blows cold.

Upgraded Ford OEM 6 CD changer/radio. Aftermarket tinted windows.

Spare tire & jack included.

HID/Projector retrofit headlights included as shown in pictures. along with the OEM headlights.

Will come with a set of OEM chrome-clad wheels (on which tires are currently installed). matching chrome center caps. and a set OEM silver-painted wheels.   Tires have seen better days. will need to be replaced soon.   (Tires currently pictured on vehicle belong on another one of my CNG pickups; the tires & wheels that will come on the truck are pictured individually in the additional pictures. )

Note:  I noticed this past Winter a slight gas smell under the hood.   My best guess is that the CNG injector o-rings are a bit hardened/grease on them a bit dry and seep a very small amount when it's freezing temps outside. just a guess.   No smell when weather is warm.   I bought a CNG injector & o-ring rebuild kit but have not had time to install it.   Will include in the glove box of the truck.   Until you have time to replace the o-rings I would just recommend running on gasoline this Winter. which I think is better for the GFI pressure regulator anyway.

Note:  Truck has hail damage on roof panel from its time in Dallas but it's not noticeable from the ground or another vehicle.   Hood had damage as well but I replaced it with a nice. newer hood.   Small ding on tailgate above the pull handle.
