Beautiful Jaguar XJ6 series 1. 4. 2 Automatic  - short wheelbase.
A rare survivor which is in remarkable condition structurally. has never been welded or been in an accident. has all correct panel gaps and shut lines.
This interesting Jaguar was delivered to Jaguar cars New York. USA on 7th June 1972. being an export model it has air conditioning. side repeaters on the wings. sundym tinted glass and red leather perforated seats. I have an official vehicle information sheet from Jaguar Daimler confirming the specification.
Little is known of the cars time in the USA other than it clearly resided in a dry state and was garaged judging by the condition of the body. On 21st May 1993 the car returned to the Uk and a professional RHD conversion was carried out. This is relatively straightforward as all XJ6 bodies were manufactured for both LHD or RHD specification.
I purchased the car in June 2014 and have carried out some light recommissioning including fitting a new radiator. changing all fluids. fitting a new battery. plugs. points. distrubutor cap. leads etc. The MOT runs until April 2017. The interior has survived well the seats are in good condition with one tiny tear in the passenger seat. the headlining and associated pillar trim need replacing as this has sagged and been removed. a common issue on these cars. The paint work looks presentable although not show quality. however this car has the potential to be a very fine example due to the rust free body. this would be a very rewarding opportunity to complete to show standard. Mechanically everything works as it should. starts first time with manual choke and has good oil pressure. The autobox changes up and down correctly.
