Reliant Regal Supervan

A very rare opportunity to acquire an even rarer vehicle! This is a genuine Reliant Regal Supervan. or otherwise known as a Delboy Trotter Van!

This is the most original and un-molested Supervan I have ever seen. It has not been mucked about with. altered. modified or bodged in any way - most unusual for these vehicles!

It's hardly surprising. when you consider that it has had only one former keeper (yes really!).  The original owner had it from first registration back in 1967. right up until 2013 - an amazing 46 years ownership!

It is MOT'd until 14/04/2017 and is therefore ready to use and enjoy straight away!

As mentioned. this is completely original - it's unbelievable. like going into a time warp!

The Key features / rare to see items are:

The bodywork is in amazing condition with virtually no damage. Even the paint is original and although now a bit flakey. it would be easily flattened ready for a fresh new coat - not the usual multiple layers of old paint to sort out!

The chassis is in excellent condition and has never been welded! - a real bonus as I have seen these where the chassis has literally rotted away! Likewise the fuel tank is spot on.

The door frames are not at all rotten (very unusual!) and the quarter light windows actually open and close (virtually unheard of!). again no rot here and the rubbers are all still there and in very good condition (and not covered in paint from the usual multiple re-sprays these vehicles have normally had!).

Most importantly. this is a genuine Supervan! AND has the factory fitted rear seats. complete with all original cushions!

If you're looking that this advert then I guess you know what you're looking at!  I am more than happy for any prospective buyers view the vehicle if they are at all unsure what they getting - in fact it is encouraged.

Please remember that this is nearly 50 years old! Whilst it is totally original and unmolested (and drives!). as per the pictures. it would benefit from a light and sympathetic restoration. Alternatively just use and enjoy it as it is!

When do you ever see a running. totally original blank canvas like this. with only 39k miles and one former keeper?! This has to be the perfect vehicle for any serious enthusiast or collector!

The other obvious route. is to convert it into a Delboy Van (Only Fools and Horses. Trotter Van etc) replica! This is what we were intending to do (and still might!). but to be honest I'm not sure I have the heart to do this to such an original and quality example - it would be nice to see it left as is. That being said. most people want these as a Delboy Van!

I therefore thought it best to offer it as it is. giving the new owner the option to have either a very original example. or create their own replica. After all it is a very easy conversion - simply paint it yellow! 

It does benefit from the rare rear windows. which I know for a Delboy replica isn't necessarily what you want (although most people just paint straight over the glass!). I will therefore offer the lucky buyer first refusal on a pair of original fibreglass panels (cut from a supervan that was broken for spares. see picture) that can be easily re-instated in place of the windows. if so required.

I am only selling as I could do with the space (plus I don't really have the heart to do a Delboy conversion to such a nice example!) and I am downsizing my collection - far too many projects on the go at once! That being said. nbsp;I am not desperate to sell. With their value increasing year on year. I am just as happy to hold on to it (if I can arrange more space!).

With Delboy replicas now commanding circa £8k and the values constantly increasing. this is a great little investment for some one!

The keys are present. as are the V5 and MOT.
