This Tiger is a fabulous project for someone who has the skills and time to complete it. It would make a great father-son project since almost everything has been sourced. Mileage listed is estimated as it is unknown.
Here is this Tiger's story. About 14 years ago. someone in the New York area restored this Tiger. It was originally light blue. but has been painted red. It has a clean. tear free tan interior and top. The young woman apparently did not like the car when it was completed and she put it up for sale. It reportedly was too fast and wild for her and she ended up selling it to a man who actually purchased it for his wife. While bringing the car home. the man was involved in a drag race. which ended when he hit an oak tree. I assume he lost as he went through the windshield. and yet suffered only minor injuries. The pictures show the extent of the damage. which is limited to the front end. The floors are NOT buckled or damaged. The damage is limited to the front end. ahead of the cowl. As a fairly rust free Tiger. I decided I would purchase it and eventually put it back together. Time is short and the Tiger should go to someone who will finish it and enjoy it. If you are reading this. you know how the value of Tigers including projects. are on an upward trend. This car has a reasonable reserve.
The Tiger is the real deal. It was in Doug Jennings shop in Dayton Ohio and although not TAC'd. Doug and his son verified it. Norm Miller is also aware of this Tiger. I have most of the parts to finish it including a good. complete. Series V Alpine. a second Series V Alpine front clip. and a complete and most importantly. a correct Tiger inner right fender. The inner fender has the correct “garden spade” dent for the charging system and top hat. The Tiger has only minor rust in some areas but is basically rust free. It has been stored indoors since the oak tree incident. This is an excellent project if someone has the time. The Tiger has a salvage title due to the damage. It is obviously missing the front cross member. I have not inventoried the entire parts package so I cannot say that everything is there. The original engine was replaced with a modified 289. I do not know the makeup of the engine as no specifications were provided to me. It has roller rockers and other aftermarket parts. Check the pictures for the engine package. A straight stick Hurst shifter is there with all of the correct linkage and mounting hardware. The rear end had been rebuilt.
The deal will include the Tiger and all of the parts that go with it or that I have to fix it. That includes the pictured Alpine. nbsp;a second Alpine clip not pictured. nbsp;the correct Tiger specific inner fender. windshield. motor. trans with shifter. radiator shroud. radiator. and the speedometer not pictured. There are boxes of parts in the trunk that also belong to and go with the deal. The car has LAT traction bars installed. The only big item missing is a front cross member. Buyer will need a steering wheel. Read this paragraph again to realize that I have acquired almost all of the parts needed to complete this rust free Tiger.
Obviously that car is being sold “AS IS” with no warranty or guarantee of any kind.
Look at the pictures and contact me with any questions you might have. I will try to get back to you as fast as I can. I encourage actual inspections if at all possible as that way you know what it is. The car can be stored for a short period of time and delivery is possible for a fee. depending on your location and my schedule. The Tiger and the Alpine clip along with all of the parts will fit on an 18' car trailer. The car is located in Madison. WI and can be viewed by appointment.
The Tiger in the background has been sold.
This is a great Tiger project and when completed would be worth more than the dollar investment.
