LOTUS ESPRIT S2

Here we have a very rare 1979 Lotus esprit S2. the car has recently been found after being in storage since  2005. nbsp; it is being sold as a light restoration project. this is not your typical "BARN FIND" it was in excellent running condition when put into storage and it has been professionally stored on blocks by its enthusiast owner in a nice dry environment.

A very original and unmolested car. finished in the rare special order colour of championship gold. only 66. 00 genuine miles

The car starts runs and drives and everything seems to work. there is a huge history file with it. which includes many invoices. purchase receipt. old mot's. v5 and workshop manuals.  the last owner has had the lotus for the past 30 years !

The engine starts first turn of the key and sounds very healthy. however the twin webber carbs either need a re-build or setting up properly as they do splutter when revved fast. if you rev the car slowly it revs up fine. I assume that the fuels and fluids will also need to be drained and replaced.

It has been fitted with four brand new tyres and four brand new brake calipers only a couple of years ago. stainless steel exhaust. the paintwork is faded on both sides and ideally it needs a re-paint. the bodywork and gel coat are in excellent condition with no signs of crazing or cracking anywhere. it should be simply a flat down and re-paint with no body repairs needed.

The interior as you can see is also in very good condition. this is extremely rare to see in an old esprit. the chassis is also in very good condition.

This will make a lovely esprit. its a very easy d. i. y project. prices of early esprits have rocketed in recent years and are now making serious money.

We are selling this car with no reserve

Please bear in mind it is being sold for re-commissioning / light restoration. it has no mot and it cant be driven away due to the spluttering carbs mentioned in the listing above.
