1961 Sunbeam Rapier

 

33366 miles. believed genuine and consistent with previous years MOT history. Registered July 1961. this Sunbeam looks very bright in its white with baby blue roof and light blue interior.  

 

The following represents my honest opinion on the current condition but of course please feel free to call with questions or to arrange a viewing.

 

Bodywork

The Rapier appears to have had restoration work in the past and all she looks bright. clean and shiny. she has a few minor areas. which the next owner may want to tackle in due course.   Paint is presentable and you would not be ashamed to use this car everyday. however she is not concourse.

 

Interior

The interior is excellent considering her age and the carpets appear to have been renewed at some point. The seats and door cards are in good condition and the wood dash panel also appears to have been refurbished by the previous owner.

 

Mechanicals

It's clear that this old Sunbeam has had a lot of time and money spent on the mechanicals. including an unleaded conversion of the cylinder head. She drives very well. pulls through the gears nicely and the brakes are also very good.

 

Chrome.

Some of the chrome looks to have been renewed and overall the trim is in excellent condition.

 

To summarise. this 1961 Sunbeam is a great Rootes Group Icon. which you can use. everyday and improve over time. She's not a showpiece but then she's not showpiece money. You will however have a rare Rapier. which will only go up in value whilst you have fun driving her. MOT is until October but we will provide a new MOT on sale
