I discovered this car a couple years ago in dry desert of northern Nevada.  The owner had known the car for decades - it belonged to a family friend and his mother drove if for years around Carson City. NV.
Apparently the motor 'blew' and the kids decided they were going to chop up the front for radiator and cooling and put an American iron v-8 in the rear.  They removed the gas tank. cut out one piece of metal in the front (I have the replacement piece - new from Sierra madre. included).  Then the project stalled (thankfully).  Decades ago.  Next owner acquired it. parked it in his shop building and never tended to it.
I acquired it and have slowly been doing a few enhancements and preparing for a full blown resto-mod.
I just completed install of the butterscotch colored Recaro's.  They are fully adjustable manually and are free from a single flaw.  I added RS door panels - brand new and have blue door pulls included along with the red in there now.  Included are the door 'tops' and window winders. hardware etc.  Windows go up and down with a feather touch - super straight undamaged body on this car!
This is a non numbers matching car. so modding is the direction I've chosen.  I personally like the look of the original Porsche design from 1968. so externally was going stock appearance.  The bumper over riders. side and bumper trim. headliner. visors. gauges. MOST interior bits and pieces are in excellent original condition. and included.
The body is exceptional for its age. as it has been off the road for decades.  The door jams give you an idea how clean with original paint in great condition.  Externally it was given a crap quality respray at some point.  This gorgeous Ossi blue color begs for a nice finish and redo at high quality.  Gaps and panels fit are very tight and any and all doors close with a proper Porsche 'thud'.
The brushed dash was carefully removed - and could easily be reinstalled. it is in exceptional condition.  One of the 6 pieces is cut to accommodate a period 'Craig' radio. so I will include the radio for a clean install.  I was going to use the pieces as a template to do something custom.
The motor and compartment are near concours level clean.  I am including a new in the box and wrapped 'big bore kit' so buyer can go with hot rod setup on the rebuild.
I will also include a new in the box perlon carpet set.  Gray in color. should look amazing with brown. black. and blue.  The carpets in there now are aftermarket. but in good condition and pretty cool looking as is. not like anything offered today.
The car is light in the front with no battery or gas tank in. explains the funny stance.  It sits on 4 driver quality chrome steel wheels. comes with a 5th chrome spare - no tire on spare.  There are four new kumho radials on now. 195/65/15 for a nice stance.
A great project for a mechanically inclined Porsche enthusiast.  This car has a GREAT straight dry tight body. you won't spend a year cutting and welding and cursing rust.  Use your creativity and spare Porsche parts and continue this cars development.
The reserve is reachable. bid with confidence. thanks.
