1988 Porsche 911

Weekend Rides is one of the worlds leading exclusively air cooled 911 964 993 used cars and used 911 parts companies.

Weekend Rides is offering for sale this 1988 911 Cabriolet which needs some cosmetic love and has not been driven in several years.

Finished in Guards Red with black carpets and tan/black interior trim.

Paint has had some touchups over the years. no structural body panels appear to have been replaced.

Paint is faded in several areas and peeling clear coat off in some places.

Door jambs are both nice and solid no rust and appear corrosion free. see photos.

Fuchs Wheels 15 INCH these are very expensive and highly sought after.

No OLD ACCIDENTS. we have examined the cabrio very closely. as experts in the repair of 911s using our Celette bench we feel this 911 has never been crashed.

Original Books included. nbsp;the portfolio of records is enormous. nbsp;lots of services from a local Porsche shop included. inspection records by DMV. nbsp;document a long time owner. nbsp;See photos.

Cabrio canvas is torn and ripped. a BRAND NEW GERMAN ONE IS INCLUDED. its  STILL IN BOX. top will fully need to be recovered.

It has a power top. we have not tried to put it down and make no representation of if it works.  

Factory rear tail spoiler.

Aftermarket fiberglass front valence is cracked

Aftermarket Radio and Aftermarket alarm Old cellphone wiring and was console mounted

Imperfections are in the paint. noticeable more so under scrutiny. again we saw ZERO evidence of welding on any panels.  

All original seams are original correct intact and fit correctly. All gaps are precise and doors hood and engine lid all fit properly

All lights gauges and switches worked when we started the cabrio and drove it around our premises. The windows did not go down. likely the connections at fuse box should be cleaned or examined. one service record shows an attempt to repair them.

Brake pedal is in need of repair. it sticks when depressed and you need to pull it back by hand. this is a common problem consistent with the car sitting unused. you can easily clean and lubricate the pedals to solve this issue. The brakes DO WORK. So does the handbrake.

Factory 3. 2 engine with the highly coveted desirable smooth shifting G50 five speed Transaxle

***Note engine does have a fuel leak in rear. most likely it is a decayed frayed rubber fuel line. as such we cannot say anything else about how it runs nor drives***

Jack and Spare tire are present and included and shown in photos

Clear PA title is on site. like all of our Porsches we require an appointment to see them.

PPI encouraged and welcomed.

Seat bottoms and bolsters are both torn cracked and aging. dash pad is cracked in a few places. nbsp;carpet set is not complete nor is it really that nice.

Porsche Logo floor mats are the only ones on the floors.

We are confident its new owner will be happy to have a piece of air cooled 911 history he can restore as time and motivation allow

With Air cooled era 911s out of reach for most guys anymore. this is a cheap way into finding one reasonably priced that's not all cobbled together nor hiding under new paint.

If you are serious buyer you know what these cars are worth these days. nbsp; We have owned hundreds of 911s and are not new to them nor selling an air cooled 911 964 993.   We suggest you do not bid at last minute because you will probably not own it in end if the auction goes to end and you will loose out on a rare chance to own a reasonable priced G50 cabrio.
