This is an extremely low mileage 1968 Impala 327 convertible (275 HP) with the Powerglide automatic transmission in excellent condition. both cosmetic and driving.

TODAY. THE ORIGINAL PROTECTO PLATE. BOOK AND OWNERS MANUAL WERE FINALLY RECOVERED FROM THE PRIOR OWNER!!! I HAVE ADDED THOSE PICTURES. AS MOST OF YOU KNOW. THE PLATE IS ESSENTIALLY THE FACTORY BUILD SHEET. AND CONTAINS ALL OF THE IMPORTANT DETAILS OF THE CAR. EVERYTHING (ENGINE. AXEL . RANMISSION. PRODUCTION DATES) LINE UP PERFECTLY. MAKING THIS ONE VERY VALUABLE AND RARE IMPALA. I WILL BE TAKING IT TO A SHOW THIS WEEKEND. SO BID WHILE IT IS STILL AVAILABLE.

The drivetrain components are all correct and original as indicated by the block casting number (3914678). intake casting number (3919803). and stamped engine production year (1968). Research into the engine pad stamp (V1221YW) shows that the block was produced in 1966 (before serial numbers were stamped). and then pulled from inventory at the engine plant in 1968 to build this 327. This was not uncommon and the blocks for 327s from 66-68 are all the same. It was then installed in the Impala as part of the original build at Tarrytown. NY.  In addition. the transmission (T8E24) and axel (EU0527B) codes are correct and original.

The major components of the body and interior are also original. All the gauges are original. including the electric clock. which is rare. The dash is perfect. no cracks or fading. The seat vinyl is also in terrific shape. no cracks or tears.   The engine bay is very clean. The car has AC. nbsp;and has been converted from the R12 to 134a. It is incredibly fun to drive. has lots of torque. no wiggles or shimmies. and that sweet V8 sound. Riding down the highway with the top down (power top. power disc brakes) and 1 finger on the steering wheel at 70 mph is pure joy. This car could be shown as an unrestored original as is. or be completely restored to "concours" for not much money. It would also be a good candidate for a "resto-mod". Only about 1500 miles put on the car in the last 13 years!

Variations from the factory specs are: painted red (coded G2 which is ash gold). interior vinyl dyed white (coded 830 which is gold). new white top (factory was black). It also has a Flowmaster exhaust. In my opinion. these changes (by a prior owner) make the car much sharper and appealing. but could be easily returned to factory specs for a few thousand dollars. I have included pictures of the engine cowl tag and the engine block casting number. I also have picture of the other codes if requested.

This is a great opportunity to purchase a 60's collectible for under the price of a house that will only go up in value. and just in time for Fall.  Good luck!
