1972 FORD F250 CLASSIC AMERICAN GO ANYWHERE LPG PICKUP TRUCK USEABLE PROJECT

Hello and welcome to my listing.
I am listing this truck on behalf of my dad who does not have eBay.  
She is a 1972 Ford F250 Camper special.  6. 4 390ci fitted with LPG.
This truck despite it aesthetics has had lots of work done to make it a daily practical workhorse capable of towing a caravan for family holidays. All of which it has done effortlessly throughout the summer. without a hitch.  
Heres a list of work completed earlier this year;
- Complete engine service. Oil. filter. air filter. plugs. leads. points. condenser. Engine runs sweet as a nut. no untoward noises/smoke etc.
- Gearbox service inc new fluid. filter and new pan gasket.
- New brakes all round. New master cylinder. new wheel cylinders. new brake shoes. new hard lines (cunnifer - rot resistant) new flexi pipes where necessary.  The drums were perfect so were re used. Needless to say she stops well.  
- New handbrake cables.
- New electrics were laid in behind the dashboard. A professional auto electrician got all indicators working. dash lights and heater blower. All other wiring was checked and proved in good order. In addition to this the towing electrical point was rewired.  
- New exhaust manifold gaskets were fitted
- Carburettor was rebuilt with new gaskets
- New Fuel pump. Hard lines and tank removed and flushed.  
- New wiper blades
- The LPG works brilliantly. giving excellent MPG.  
- Original radio works well



As you may gather. the above work has made this truck ultra reliable.  
The truck has had welding completed in places to maintain its MOT over the years. Some pretty. some to a standard. The good news is nothing structural is required now.  
The bad points. as with any classic vehicle are as follows;
- Aesthetically it needs improvement. however we love its rough and ready stance combined with its ultra great reliability to almost defy all peoples judgements. For example effortlessly towing a 26ft caravan along the north Yorkshire moors.  
- The rear tub will require either a hard wood floor or steel plate as a few holes have appeared in places. Generally the entire body will need work prior to painting etc. The bonnet is bad and the rear arches/tub area.
- Two front tyres will need replacement as they are of age. The rears were replaced as a result of a blow out on the o/s rear. Hence the damage on the rear quarter panel.  
All in all a great useable truck that stands out from the crowd and gets you where you are going. There is a lot of shiny turds out there. looking the part and polished every other weekend. whilst holding many mechanical nightmares beneath. Why not try this one for size. what you see is what you get. A useable american classic truck that you can take rubbish to the tip. you can haul a car trailer with your beloved classic on to shows. you can take the family caravan to the sea side - no matter of its size. Why have an ornament that does not allow you to use it for what it was built for? 
If you are serious on wanting a proper big block 6. 4 thumping American truck. Don't overlook this one. All the hard stuff has been done. Your final touches can make this truck what you want whilst having the confidence to actually drive it.

I am listing this as a running/useable PROJECT. For the simple reason she is a classic and will require work to make pretty.  
The truck will not be released until all funds have cleared.
