Jensen Interceptor RARE series II (2) for restoration for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.5) based on 626 votes
JENSEN INTERCEPTOR SERIES II This is the rare series 2 model of which only a handful were made for the United  Kingdom market and this car was originally painted in tangerine of which only 43 were produced. It is a late 1971 example with a chassis number of 123/4185 making it one of the last series 2 cars to come off the production line.  The engine is the 6. 3 litre Chrysler unit engine code j23211239 mated with the three speed auto transmission. The car is advertised as needing restoration. certainly not a basket case. and some would say for the year of the car a straight forward restoration but nonetheless needing the usual Jensen floor and sill repairs/replacement. most of the underneath is solid including the boot floor. It has the usual Jensen rust popping out around the car in places so will need a proper bare metal respray and possibly some repair panels as necessary. I think for me it would be great to see it in its original colour scheme of tangerine and black leather which there obviously can't be many series 2 left with that combination. The interior will need a re-trim and new carpets. a lot of the trim that was taken off for a respray at some point is in the boot. some of which could be reused including chrome finishers.  Its mostly all there as far as I can see but  door cards and front seat belts are missing but can be obtained through various sites. The important thing with this car is that it's mostly all there and it has huge potential when restored.  The exterior glass is all in excellent shape and the stainless trim is all good. obviously some will need a re-polish and chroming. including the bumpers. The engine itself fires into life easy and sounds strong with good oil pressure and the auto box selects reverse  and drive without any clonks.  Obviously it has not had an mot for quite a while so it would need going through mechanically all round including brakes etc.  Steering fluid has been leaking so will need attention along with various other things but all part of a restoration. which goes without saying.  Looking at some old MOT's. it's probably been off the road for many years.  It has had seven previous owners with the last person owning it since 1998.  The car needs restoring properly and I have weighed this up as it will need a fair bit of work and time so have decided to sell it hopefully to someone that can put this amazing car back to its former glory.  These Jensen cars are going up in value all the time and are being appreciated now more than ever as they should be. Please only UK bidders - I repeat UK ONLY . And please no time wasters.
I have been honest with this listing and would appreciate the same from bidders please. it is a restoration project for a rare car that will need time and money to put right so bare this in mind.
