I have for Auction my 1967 fully optioned 911 Short Wheelbase. This car stared life as a 912 in 1967. It was built by Karmann and has been fitted with all 911 period factory accessories. and then some. (911 and 912 bodies were identical when these were built. ) A genuine 911 with this gear would cost in excess of $50K if you could find one. ! It is short wheelbase. Immediately after this model the chassis was lengthened by 100mm. You can see that the torsion bar access holes are very close to the rear wheel arch. Not many of these left. here or in Europe. The engine is a fully rebuilt 6 cyl 2. 4E from 1973 model which gives awesome power and makes this car a great drivers collectable. (Approx 20K km since rebuilt) The engine has had all recommended reliability mods done like hydraulic cam chain tensioners. late model stiffened rocker box covers etc. It produces 165BHP ( 140kW). It has original Bosch fuel injection which is fully rebuilt. ($4K). The electronic ignition is original Bosch. These are repairable if faulty!. The exhaust is a stainless steel unit from Germany. ($4K) The wheels (5) are factory FUCHS alloys fitted with almost new Michelin X green dot tyres. 195/65/15 The original steel wheels and hubcaps are included. The seats are late 60's leather Recaros which were a factory option. There is a Blaupunkt radio fitted. Works but not wired in. Again a genuine accessory. The transmission is an ex- factory 5 speed with racing pattern (first out left and back. . 2. . . . in H pattern. ) (Takes a bit to get used to. ) 4 Wheel discs. factory option. The steering wheel is genuine 911 S wood-rimmed with great patina. These are rare. No rust that I can see. At 165BHP it is faster than an E type and quicker off the mark. if you want a stunning looking car that has originality and really is an exhilarating drive this could be it. It is a real sports car. goes stops and has all the rough edges of an early thoroughbred. Unit is in great condition for its age. It is not a concours car. But no expense was spared in making this a very fast but original drivers car. Car is registered until December and is located in Rosebud Victoria. All the hard work has been done for this car to be reliable. Engine and injection etc in excess of $20K has been spent. Note it is LHD. This in fact is an advantage as they are getting more rare in Europe and I have been advised to not convert it. It needs some small details tidying up but it IS 46 years old !. I am 64 and want to clear out some toys and projects and do the Grey Nomad thing. Any reasonable help to transport it would be given. John
