For sale is a RARE 1970 Checker Cab 8 Door factory Limo. also known as Airport Cab. These cabs where only in existences from 1969 to 1972. Built in Indiana these where suppose to be the ultimate Airport to city taxi. to help reduce the congestion that was caused by the union strike in the 70's at all major airports.
in 1972 after all the differences between Airports and taxi were ironed out this long 8 door limos where useless and shortly after production stopped.
These are very RARE. This particular checker was purchased by me in 2007 Indiana as part of a 3 checker cab deal. there were shipped to the UK were they served our museum as a shuttle service cab from hotels to the museum. In 2014 a new law in the UK meant that all shuttles . taxis. or cabs were to meet new government legislation which made it impossible for this car to be used for its intended purpose  so I retired them. This is the 1st of the 3 cabs sent to the UK back on USA soil.
Title is a Florida title with no liens. This car was painted 4 years ago in 2012 and interior was re upholstered with brand new vinyl. The cab  original wheels were changed to custom wheels but original are easy to get and could help you find it. I do have a set of hubs caps but not in perfect condition
