The S800 was introduced at the Tokyo motor show in 1965 as a successor to the S600 and. as with the earlier car. was available with coupe or convertible bodywork. The high-revving twin-cam and twin-carburettor 800cc engine delivered an extraordinary 70bhp and powered the diminutive car to over 100mph. At the time. it was held to be the quickest sub-1 litre production car. There was a four-speed gearbox and front discs and rear drums to slow things down when required.

This coupe was one of the first to come to the UK in 1967. A previous owner undertook a substantial body-off restoration some ten years ago and the car remains very presentable today. It is has an over-bored engine. a higher final drive ratio. slightly wider wheels and a sports steering wheel. The front and rear bumpers. removed for a slightly meaner look. are available to refit along with the spare wheel carrier and an original steering wheel.
