The paintwork on the car is in fantastic condition boasting a deep glassy shine all round. all the panels on the car are dent-free and line up as they should with no corrosion to the usual areas. Both front and rear chrome bumpers are in fine condition with no damage or major pitting. complementing the cars beautiful red paintwork. Smaller details such as the M5 badges. black door handles and waist-line trim are also in excellent condition with no fading or damage and the front spoiler like new. INTERIOROnce seated in the M5 the interior space feels very comfortable with supportive Recaro sports seats and a surprising amount of viability thanks to the slim pillars. The black leather Recaro sports seats are in good condition with no major cracks or tears. on close inspection there is a very small crack in the piping on the driver bolster. All the seats retain their iconic M-badging on the seat-backs. just one of the subtle reminders that you are in the original M5. All of the switchgear still feels solid to operate with very little wear to any of the switches or knobs and the electrics are all working exactly as they should with the air conditioning also blowing ice cold. The dashboard and door panels still show a clean undamaged texture with no scuffs or scratches. The grey carpet throughout the car blends perfectly with the black interior and remains clean and tidy. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThis car has an amazing history file with it is possible to read in great detail how well the car has been looked after. it has a huge pile of service invoices and receipts mostly from the same garage and 41 stamps in the book! The timing chain has been replaced and the top end has been fully rebuilt in the cars lifetime. The engine runs very smoothly and pulls well throughout the rev range. these engines really come to life over 4. 00rpm and produce an addictive howl. The gearbox feels tight and precise and shifts easily through the gears. WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKESThe car comes with its factory 16" cross spoke alloys that have all been fully refurbished and have had new BMW centre badges fitted. They are all shod in a matching set of Pirelli P6000 tyres that all have plenty of tread left. The car has just been fitted with new front discs and pads with the lower front arms being replaced at the same time. HISTORY FILEThis M5 was first registered in April 1987 and for the first 5 years the car was serviced at BMW main dealers. The previous owner then purchased the car in 1992 with 37k on the clock and has had it serviced at the same specialist garage for over 20 years. It has a total of 41 service stamps. the first 16 BMW and the last 25 are all from the same specialist. These are then all backed up with a box file full of all the old service receipts that go right back to the original bill of sale.
