MK 1 Escort Mexico

hi and welcome to my auction for my genuine mk1 escort mexico signal yellow. nbsp;this is not a reshell or sum copy this is the real deal. a true type 49 car. this is a ture barn find. well actually it was found in a old army buncor. it had been there for 30 years i am led to belive. i really want to do this but the work shop i rent is going up for sale. but i am in no rush to get rid of it so no sill offers please. we all no this is worth decent money as it is very solid and vertually complete. the v 5 is in my name and states the BFATchassis number as is still stamped on the strut top the ford vin tag is here to but sadly the AVO tag is missing. last owner missplaced it. nbsp;but these are easy toget re produced so no worrys there.

body shell 

proper type 49 shell

over all the shell is very good. original floor pans and are very solid with a bit of surface rust. there are sum small  holes on the inner sills both sides about 6 inches long easy repairs. t still has its original spare wheel well ans tank well and are both very solid. good boot floor to again with a bit ov surface rust. i have had it on my lifts and it is very solid underneath. good solid chassis legs all the way threw. floors again solid underneath. it has had sum small repairs around were the front bumper irons bolt on. just beeing honest i wood cut them out and flush them in cuz they have just had a few patches welded over. there are a couple small holes in the n/s  inner panel . again easy repair when engine is out. sumone has put front mex arches on the rear aparently it was a big thing to do in the 70s to get wider wheels under the bad. they have gone crusty. i have bort new rear arches and will cum with car. t has original inner wings with good strut tops. it has had new front mex wings whitch i think are ford 1s by the looks as fit very well. also had wing rails sum time in its life. didnt notice this till i started to wipe the zbart off. also think its had outer silles sum time in its lift and have been fitted really well with door gaps. it has good rear qualters and roof (all straight as a die) good front panel. slam panel. again sum small surface rust from standing. good back panel. wood say it has been undersealed pritty early on in its life cuz ov the amazing condition underneath. it still has its original doors with seporate door locks (only on mexicos and rs models) and are solid. passenger door has had a small repair on door skin at bottom ( only no cuz door card is off) i have also managed to get a rust free and straight bonnet with the cross undearneath still atached to skin in primer that will go with the car. there is alsothe original boot lid that is good and straight with a bit ov rust on surface only small. there is 1 qualter bumper missing as you can see in pic

so over all in very good condition for how old it is

running gear

all the running gear is there and untuched. as you can see it still has the original oval air filter only on mexicos (very rare). engine is complete with all mexico extras like twin choke webber carb. 4 branch. big wing sump (very rare and fetch silly money when are for sale). riginal gearbox. single peice prop. nti tramp axle. exhaust is pritty shot. ngine is stuck from standing . nbsp;i have put sum oil down bores but havent really tryed to free it off. it will want a strip and rebuild probably. it cums with its original set ov mex steel wheels. they will need a refurb as you can see in pic. nbsp;

interior

the interior is mostly there only thing i can see that is missing is the centre consoll. i do have the black carpet whitch is not in the pics. there are a couple ov holes been cut in the dash for switches by the looks. all seats. door cards. qualter cards. clocks . ash top is all there (again a small fortune to buy) as you can see from pics is all there.

in the boot its all complete proper carpet that goes over spare wheel and there is also a original over carpet in great condition (very rare)

now the boring bit as i have been messed about before
