How do I describe this fabulous car?  Photographs don't do the car justice.   It's won every car show it's ever been in. including best of show wins over winners of the Goodguy show. etc.   It has a 'Best of Show' from the 'Oldsmobile Club of America' show. which-  besides the huge perpetual trophy. the next year's T-shirt has the previous year's winning car image on it. and will have a few of those T-shirts included in the sale.   This is a 100 point car from 10 feet out. but not a 100 point car (98?) up close.   Why?  Because it's a dream machine. not a trailer queen!  I maintain it as a perfect. beautiful driver. because that is what cars are for. and this car. indeed. drives like a dream!  All of the major functioning aspects of this rare automobile (46 or less known to be still on the road) are in perfect working order.   The brakes have just been completely gone through. the engine purrs. is strong with great torque.   The optional J-2 engine (the three carb option offered for the first time). delivers 300 strong. original horsepower.   I live on a hill. and the Olds goes up that grade just as easily as my BMW 745!  I have driven this car on 500+ mile trips. and it behaves as you would wish it to.   It has never over heated. even when going to Reno. Nevada for 'Hot August Nights'. several times (from Northern California).   Everything about the car is as original. with one small exception.   The 'always breaks down' clock has been replaced with a reliable (you can't see or know it by appearance) quartz replacement ($500!).   There is also a small gauge cluster in the glove box (see photo) for actual. by the moment readings on temp. oil pressure. and battery.   Why? Because this was the first year for a circuit board in American cars for those readings that initiated what we called then 'Idiot Lights" ! This was the most expensive car Oldsmobile offered in 1957. and amongst the top 5 or so most expensive American cars offered for sale that year.   The iconic '57 Chevrolets were about 1/2 the cost of this car!  The example here has every single available option but one.   That exception is the little regarded 'Autronic Eye' which sat on top of the dashboard (ugly!) and. when working. automatically dimmed the headlights for oncoming cars.   This car has the renowned 'Wonder Bar' signal seeking radio. with the optional foot button.   It has. of course - electric power seats. power convertible top. power radio antenna(!). power windows. power steering. power brakes. etc.   Each and every item works perfectly.   The seats are in the original pattern red/white design. done in premium leather.   I have extra. matching leathers which will go with the sale.    The photos show the triple carbs as I always show them - with the little pot air cleaners  (replacement filters will be included).   This is because they look so great that way.   But I have over $1. 00 spent in restoring the original (NOT the problematic oil bath early one) air cleaner. which is of course. included. see photo.   Included in the sale is an abundance of supporting material.   Every car magazine's original '57 Olds test drives. comparisons. etc. All of the manuals. workbooks. brochures. etc.   It will even include a collection of every Playboy magazine from 1957!  The car is almost 20 feet long. and its sweeping design and dramatic profile draws stares and admiration wherever it is seen.   You cannot find a more impressive. beautiful example of mid-50's dramatic excess than this spectacular automobile.   The NADA (National Automobile Dealers Association) guide shows this car at a value of $166. 00!  I have had a recent. dramatic change in my health. which causes me to divest myself of my most prized possessions (see 'Seller's other Offerings').   I have listed this car at what I feel is an obvious 'priced to sell'. because I do need to sell it quickly.   Anyone purchasing this car in the Continental U. S. will get the car delivered free of cost.   For those foreign buyers. you are on your own with shipping.   I am more than happy to answer any questions you might have.   Ebay requires that I report the cars mileage.   The 4. 00 miles shown is what the car has experienced since its 5 year. $85. 00+ restoration.
