I am selling my classic T 2 panel van as I have overspent on its restoration. It's basically a dream scenario - all the scary. potential money-pit mechanical issues are taken care of and you just have to choose the fun stuff. I just got it back from the mechanic and took these photos. but it definitely needs a wash after spending 4 months in a garage. Also the horn is tempremental. It has a years mot with no advisories from yesterday. Excellent mechanically and structurally. There is no rust at all. Replacement 1. 6 engine. respray (in and out) new clutch and cable. all new brakes and cables. replacement front axle. new exhaust. new seatbelts. new engine bar and tinware. new battery. new mirrors. new horn. new bearings. all welding done to a high standard including sills. side door runner and jacking points and outriggers. brand new hankook tyres all round. rear bumper. engine serviced and part rebuild. new wiring and loads of other new things like all new ball joints and seals. steering pin etc etc etc. I have spent nearly 8 k on it and have run out of money for the interior. so I thought I would see if there was any interest before I send off the registration forms (that come with the van). It was originally a Greek bus. I have the VW birth certificate in my wife Eva's name (4 months wait!) and nova documents and of course the mot to register it. but thought I would see if there was interest first. It is structurally and mechanically excellent but interior needs a revamp. the seats have holes in them. it needs new rubber door seals and the bodywork is that of a panel van rather than a camper (I think it looks great). The van drives magnificently and all work has been professionally done by the local vw garage volksworld up the road from here.
Please no dreamers or time wasters. This is a seriously well mechanically restored van done with the intention of keeping it. rather than just to do up to sell. For example - this is why the front axle was replaced and top quality expensive tyres were put on it.
