196k mls. 25 stamps in service book of which about 20 are from Mercedes Main dealers ! ! ! The one with the reliable 2. 3 engine. NOT the troublesome 16 Valve 2. 0 or 2. 2 which have problems with engine wiring loom.
superb engine/gearbox/brakes/steering etc. . rear suspension is not hard like on some of these.

We had this car for almost 2 years in which we did about 2500 mls and the Mercedes 
does NOT eat any engine oil. or coolant. not a gram ! ! !

Previous owner was a mechanic who told me he reconditioned the engine. no evidence for this but probably be true as engine is amazing in fact the whole car is amazing the way it drives. including steering. gearbox. brakes and suspension.

The car has been treated to new brake pads. oil and filter. new coolant. new distributor cap and a set of new ignition high tension leads last year.   We also fitted a brand new alternator as the old one became a little noisy.  
The car drives like a dream and is very economical when driven sensibly. there is also an economy clock in the dashboard. which only certain years of the w124 have. to show the current fuel consumption.  
All 4 Electric windows and central locking work as does the electric mirror but sunroof doesn't open. Even the automatic boot closure works. You don't have to shut the boot fully. you just put I down until its almost closed. then magically the boot gets pulled down in the fully closed position. This feature was invented by Mercedes to avoid neighbours being disturbed in the night shutting the boot when You come take things out of the car. or if there are kids sleeping in the car to avoid waking them. Aerial broke in car wash but new one is supplied. The radiator fan has seen better days and fan blades must have hit the radiator shroud at some point which is missing. and radiator is quite old too but both work still as new and the engine temperature is always perfect.  If You feel those need done a new radiator is £40 delivered from Ebay and the fan a few pounds from Mercedes breakers.
The car needs the 2 front wings repaired or replaced and painted. the rust is currently covered with fake air intakes which are just stuck on with double sided tape. and the bonnet painting because of lacquer peel. nbsp; bonnet star missing.  I will get the 2 front wings repaired and painted including bonnet before car is collected. this will be done by blending the front wings paint in hence no there will be no different shade to the doors. There is also a small rust spot under the rear light and one on top of same rear wing and a dent on top of the left rear light. which will also be repaired and painted with the same blending in technique. at full asking prize.
However if You make an offer on the car You are buying the car as it is. unrestored.

The Mercedes is 100% HPi clear .
Interior is extremely good condition. better than most cars a quarter of its age.  just a tiny nick in the glovebox lid. nbsp;but the dashboard. seats. door trims. carpets and headlining etc. are in excellent condition. Boot carpets have been cleaned since pictures taken and looks excellent now too. Underneath the car looks like 5 years old. nbsp;me and the MOT tester have both been shocked how good the car still is after 25 years. looks like few years old underneath !!!
The Mercedes just had new MOT in July  0 advisories !!!!
This car drives like a dream and is much more reliable than any modern car hence no silly offers please.

The car had a set of 3 new Michelin Fuel Saver tyres and 4 new Mercedes wheel caps for £600 only about 1 year ago. plus another Michelin fuel saver with unknown age and still 80 tread on it.
The car has just been on a 500 mile journey to France and back with speeds of up to 110 mph and sits like on rails. drives like a dream. Rear suspension is perfect. not hard like on some of them when the hydraulics are seized up.

I am very sad to part with it as i know i will never get a more reliable and better built car but my silly wife wants a modern car hence its not used any more. and very very reluctantly i am selling. but only for the right prize! Excellent investment!
