Stunning 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL Roadster. A true and elegant European classic finished in the perfect color combination. Red with Tan Interior This classic is a fully equipped. highly collectible convertible with both hard top and a soft top. For a car over 29 years old. this classic has been meticulously maintained both cosmetically and mechanically. which is very important with these vehicles. Cheaper ones for sale can involve large bills at the mechanics. body or upholstery shops. So bargains often only delay expenses.
This vehicle is completely rust free with low 88K (that's less than 3. 00 miles per year) on this powerful 5. 6 liter. 8 cylinder engine. It has been garage stored and was only driven in fair weather. Previous owner was an elderly gentleman who owned the vehicle for the past 16 years and the vehicle was driven only 10. 00 miles in those 16 years.
This car is simply one of the nicest examples of this highly sought after model available. Remember the most desirable and sought after of these models are the later years of production 560SL's. A true collectors dream! These cars are appreciating in value and are great investments. There have been numerous articles in collector car magazines. and on television car shows about the upward spiral of the value of these cars and how they will predictably be out of many peoples reach like the older 1960 and 1970 SL's are today. These 60's & 70's models consistently bring 6 figures and up at auctions and on Ebay. Check them out.
This vehicle has been well cared for. The interior is in great condition and the exterior is in excellent condition. Interior and exterior chrome are in excellent condition as well. There is no rust on the body or on the undercarriage. The photos below show the excellent condition of this vehicle with nothing to hide. but the photos don't do this vehicle justice. It is gorgeous in person. and looks like it did in the showroom in 1987. Drive the car that only a millionaire could afford in 1987. with over a $60. 00 dollar sticker price in 87. The car would retail today for $125. 00 into today's dollar equivalency according to a recent classic car magazine article. If interested. I can arrange overseas transport from an eastern US port. (insured and licensed transport to the port and overseas shipment) to be paid by buyer.
Do not contact me with trades. offers or solicitations to list elsewhere. nbsp;I will not respond. so please save time for both of us. The Mercedes Dealer Service Maintenance Booklet is stamped up to 67. 00 miles. this was in 1992 which was 24 years ago. The vehicle presently has 88. 36 k which represents 20. 00 miles since 1992. (that's less than a thousand miles a year since 1992. ) The soft top is black Hartzcloth (black exterior with tan underside. interior). The exterior paint of the vehicle is red. My camera may have altered some of the color representation of the vehicle's colors but the car is Mercedes Red. The tires on the vehicle are Pirellis 4000's and are in good condition. The stereo has CD capability. The paint work is in excellent condition. as is the chrome. The car has a current PA Motor Vehicle inspection. The Auto Check report lists a minor issue. It was a non-collision damage incident that was reported by the first owner as scratches on the rear fender going into the garage and that small area on that fender was professionally refinished and today shows absolutely no indication of repair. Price reflects this minor issue. Air Conditioning was converted over to 134 (newer refrigerant) and works. Vehicle is also being sold locally and on three other websites and I reserve the right to end auction in the event of early sale.
Auto Check is comparable to CarFax. It shows the vehicle's history and rates the car with a score based on similar vehicles currently for sale. Comparable vehicles of this year and model have a Auto Check Score of 25-45 according to the Auto Check Report. When I purchased the vehicle the Auto Check Score was 47 on the report I ordered. It is now 45 because of adding my name as third owner. The 2 point drop in score had nothing to do with any change in the vehicles excellent condition. The score is still at the highest end for vehicles of this make and model currently for sale. The Auto Check high end score for this vehicle indicates its excellent condition and history.
