This is a genuine original 1956 Ford THUNDERBIRD.

IT HAS THE ICONIC HARD TOP PORT HOLES AND CONTINENTAL WHEEL KIT THAT WERE ONLY STANDARD ON THE 1956 model  AND IS KNOWN BY ALL AS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CAR EVER BUILT IN THE USA

I purchased this car in 2010 and paid $26. 00 USD. landed in Australia it cost well over $32. 00 with quarantine. exchange rate. transport and GST. I have since replaced the 3 speed manual gearbox with a newly built for me identical T95 gearbox handbuilt for me in the USA and costing over $4000. 00. The old gearbox had served will beyond its intended use by date. everything else other than paint. soft top and upholstery is standard and from 1956.

It is fitted with the standard 8 Cylinder. 312 V8 in stock but running beautifully condition.

This is a nice example of one of the most desired cars in the world. a red 1956 Ford Thunderbird convertible! Sporting two tops. one white soft top and the other a red hard top with the port holes on the sides! This stunning "T" BIRD with the two tops has three distinctive looks to it depending which top is on or if any. The continental kit is a very attractive option to the Thunderbird and with the white wall tires. red color combination wheels and the white and black interior this car has to be driven to be believed.

This car is old and is an everyday driver or project. It needs paint and some light body repairs and the chrome from the bumpers has started to oxidise.

I have owned the car for 3 years and it is registered in NSW on historic plates. I used it as part of my collection to take people on drives with all proceeds going to charity. I raised over $270. 00 with this and other cars. It has never been on full NSW registration. This is not a $72. 00 1956 Thunderbird that is selling for $30k. It needs paint as the paint is showing signs of cracks and the body had been restored with bondo in the USA about 10 years ago. underneath is fair for a 57 year old car. It is worth every cent of $35k. but if you are looking for a $40-$72k Thunderbird I would suggest this is not it. unless you spend $10-20k. Its a great everyday driver with all the stuff there to turn into a show car. The only rust I can clearly see is where the battery acid leaked and this is an easy fix. I can arrange for you with a professional steel welded repair for $250.

Car is in Parramatta/ Sydney and definitely should be inspected before bidding.
