1964 1/2 Mustang Convertible

The original owner of this car has decided after 50+ years of enjoyment to sell this very special part of his life and family. his beautiful 1964 1/2 Mustang Convertible.   The private seller would consider ending the auction early at $22. 00. 00 for a buyer who would appreciate it and care for the car as he has since he bought it new.

The odometer reads 79. 39 original miles on the car as of today (that will change daily because he does enjoy driving this car).  

Seller took possession of the car on July 3. 1964.  

The seller drove this car and enjoyed it through out the 50+ years of ownership and decided to give it a nuts and bolts restoration about 5-6 years ago using as many original parts that could be found.  

The car has one re-paint in the same burgundy color that the car was born with and has a new interior in the original style.  

The V8 260 engine was rebuilt about 3. 00 miles ago.  

3-speed on the floor.  

The car has a manual black convertible top and the cover has one minor tear.  

The car has never seen water since restoration.   It has been kept in a heated garage with wood floor.   Also the underside was sandblasted when restored.

It starts. stops and runs good.  

The choke is in the gas pedal.  

The seller said you have to warm the car up before driving as is common with these cars.  

The car has had no accidents. no rust and has a New York registration.  

The seller upgraded the wheels but the original wheels and hubcaps go with the car.

The seller upgraded to an AM/FM aftermarket radio but the original radio goes with the car.

The car has seat belts.

Contrary to popular belief. the first model year for the Ford Mustang was 1965. Mustangs produced between March 9th and July 31st of 1964 are often coined the 1964 ½ Ford Mustang by enthusiasts. Initial production of the second round of Mustangs began on August 17th. 1964. Both the original production Mustangs and the second run are technically considered 1965 Mustangs by Ford. That's not to say there aren't differences between the two. The first Mustangs produced feature unique characteristics that set them apart from those produced after July 31st. 1964.
