EXTERIOR
The silver metallic paintwork presents beautifully with a glossy shine and has to be one of the best colour choices for a Mercedes of this vintage. The simple. elegant lines of the SL strike a stunning pose against our studio backdrop. Having been recently restored. the brightwork presents perfectly with a clear mirror finish throughout.

All of the light lenses are free from cracks or moisture and the blue soft-top is damage-free and operates smoothly. The iconic Pagoda hard top. finished in beautiful contrasting dark blue paintwork is still present and correct. having also been restored including new headlining.

INTERIOR
The SL's interior is certainly a glamorous place to be with the classic design of the dashboard. chrome fittings. switches. knobs. and the over-sized steering wheel. The original Becker radio is still in place and the optional air conditioning unit is present and working exactly as it should.

The dark blue leather seats are both in excellent condition with minimal wear to be found. providing a soft. comfortable place to sit. Furthermore the grey woven carpets are spotless throughout. Within the boot area the spare wheel is in place wrapped in the original cover. with the rubber boot mat still present also.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Under the bonnet lies the silky smooth Mercedes 2. 8-litre inline-6 engine. which presents very well; all components have been either restored or replaced to retain a fresh appearance. The engine has covered a mere 8. 00 miles since its re-build. On arrival with us the car was inspected and received a fresh oil service for peace of mind. The 4-speed gearbox performs effortlessly. shifting through the gears with ease.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The SL sits on its original 14-inch wheels. attached to which are a set of beautifully refurbished hub caps in pristine condition. The wheels are shod in a matching set of Goodyear tyres with plenty of tread remaining. The brakes still have plenty of life left. pulling the car to a stop quickly and smoothly.

HISTORY FILE
The Mercedes 280 SL was manufactured in Germany in December 1968. Within the history file an original Mercedes document holder can be found. containing a service booklet. owner's service policy booklet. Mercedes directory. Mercedes product brochure. owner's manual. catalog. and Becker instruction booklet.

More recent documentation includes a Date of Manufacture letter from Mercedes. registration documents. invoices for recent service work. MOT certificate. plus the UK V5C registration document.
