Austin A90 six Westminster 1955

I recently bought this car as a non useable vehicle. It can be found in the images of A90sixes when it was last on the road a couple of years ago. Sadly it was laid up and as a result has taken some work to put it into useable condition again. Unfortunately for me a short time after buying it I had an attack of gout so have not been able to use it and am now looking to replace it with an automatic Enough about me . the car is all good underneath and the doors boot and bonnet are all sound. The four wings have had remedial work done in the past and again more recently. they are a bolt on fitting so not structural but they are not available to buy hence they keep getting repaired. ills seem to be original with a couple of patches but sound underneath. These were a luxury car so it has two tone leather trim and a comprehensive dash layout. The engine starts readily and has 50psi on tickover . no smoke or rattles. It also has the very rare twin SU set up which give easier starting and more power. Brakes have been overhauled. tyres are almost new and it has the very rare extra of ace wheel trims. Now if you are looking for a really nice one there is one for sale currently on ebay for £12000. and there have been others offered for sale at around £8000. Now as I have not been able to drive this one far because of my malady I would hesitate to say it could be driven home but on the face of it would seem likely that it could be used very quickly. nd on that basis I am not looking for a fortune for it. It is best considered as a rolling restoration. I am having trouble uploading pictures so will try to sort this over the week end. An identical car to this competed in the 1956 Monte Carlo rally and there are at least two currently being used for classic car racing at such events as Goodwood Revival and Silverstone classic meets. In this picture anyone who knows Westminsters will notice the outer chrome rim is not fitted and the reason for this is the temp gauge failed so I fitted one in a separate bracket below the dash but left the surround off the main gauge as it will have to come out again to fit a new temp gauge(which I now have). The four wings need a proper coat of paint hence the front chrome strips are not fitted. ut they are with the car. Remember this car is not 'mint' its usable and respectable and very rare
