Hi and welcome to my auction for my Triumph Spitfire 1500.

I've had this car for a couple of years now and feel that i have gone about as far with it as I can and to be honest I could do with some money for other projects. Its been great fun as a Sunday morning toy and I've greatly enjoyed working on it and making improvements along the way.   Its certainly not a show car. please be aware that up close there are a few paintwork faults and blemishes (crack in the paint at the front of the bonnet and various bubbles and chips especially on the from wings. the photos do flatter it) however. it still gets admired greatly and I am not pricing it as per a mint example; I think the price represents really good value considering whats been done to the car.

I started with a very tired but sound car (its obviously had a fair bit of bodywork done in the past including new sills) and did the following work to it:

New clutch plates and release bearing
Good secondhand gearbox replacement
New brake disks. callipers. pads and braided lines
Good secondhand hood and frame (its white. but does keep the weather out)
New alloy wheels and tyres (done less than 1500 miles)
New water pump and all new hoses
New distributor and electronic ignition
Carbs rebuilt with non wax stats and correctly set up and balanced
Rear spring reconditioned with new teflon inserts
New driveshafts UJs (still rattle slightly which is annoying!)
All new service items. oil. filters. plugs. leads etc
New rear wheel bearings
Stainless exhaust with twin outlets as per GT6
New carpets throughout
Good secondhand MX5 seats
New windscreen wiper motor
New headlights with H4 halogen bulbs not sealed beams
Reconditioned dashboard. switches and gauges (all working correctly)

Just had new MOT which it passed with no advisories

The above work has been done either by myself or at Michael Alexanders Triumph specialists in Chester.

Comes with all its paperwork V5 in my name lots of invoices and old MOTs

Will throw in a few new spares including new master cylinders. clutch braided line. suspension trunnions and bushes and specially mixed spay paint (about £250 worth)

The car starts first time. runs great. doesn't leak and is. I think. about as sorted as an old spitfire ever is (in this price bracket). Obviously this is just my opinion. please be aware these are old classic cars and need lots of tlc. Even then they will never be as well made or reliable as an MX5. so please do make sure its what you want or best of all come and have a look to make sure before you bid. If not then accept the fact my opinion may not be the same as yours. and if its not what you wanted don't blame me when I expect you to stand by your bid. Obviously I am not a trader and therefore can only sell the car in good faith with no waranty implied or given.

If anyone does want to view before they place a bid. just let me know (the car is in Whitchurch. Shropshire).

No bids will be accepted from anyone with less than 10 positive feedback (unless you contact me first). Also I would like a deposit of £50. 00 paid via paypall within 24 hours of auction ending and then the rest to be paid cash on collection.

Any questions please just ask.

Many thanks Simon.
