1956 TRIUMPH TR2

We are delighted to offer this incredibly smart Triumph TR2 onto the market. SVS 150 is finished in British Racing Green with Cream leather upholstery and has an excellent set of painted wire wheels. The car comes with a superb hood. as new side screens. desirable overdrive option and is a genuine UK supplied RHD car.
We have some background information about the cars history and are told its first owner was a lady who kept the car for fourteen years. It was sold in 1970 and used to commute between Buckinghamshire and Aberdeen. The car proved totally reliable but after four years the owner made the sensible decision to have a company car. a Morris Marina. At this point the car was sold requiring some restoration work and the car stayed with its next owner for seventeen years. In 2003 the TR2 was sold and was moved over to Northern Ireland and then changed hands again within Northern Ireland prior to a major restoration in 2009. SVS 150 was totally stripped down and restored to a very high standard. The engine was removed. the car totally stripped and rebuilt from the ground up. A comprehensive file of invoices and photographs are with the car that includes mechanical restoration work. Between early 2014 and late 2015 the TR2 has been subject of further major work. The engine was once again removed and fully rebuilt with new shells. liners. pistons. big end and main bearings and oil pump. The crankshaft was polished and the cylinder head fully rebuilt and converted to run on unleaded. The gearbox was also stripped down and fully rebuilt. as was the rear axle. As a result of this recent expenditure. the TR2 is now in top class mechanical order. Invoices totalling thousands of pounds worth of expenditure are included in the history file.
The TR presents superbly with a lovely straight body with very good panel gaps. The panels are superb and the British Racing Green paintwork gleams. The chrome work is of an excellent standard. the painted wire wheels and tyres are excellent and the weather gear is like new. The upholstery presents very well with Cream leather seats. nicely aged carpets. smart door cards and dashboard. The engine bay is nicely detailed and the boot area very tidy. The TR2 is very impressive on the road with a strong rebuilt engine holding excellent oil pressure. The gearbox is perfect with excellent syncro's and the overdrive comes in and out smoothly. The car feels direct. firm and is really good fun to drive with excellent brakes. suspension and handling. This is a great opportunity to purchase a very desirable car that is ideal for regular use and is ready to enjoy.
