1983 Porsche 944 Base V8 for sale
Current customer rating: (133 votes ) based on1983 Porsche 944 NA with Ford 302 V-8.
Here is a great 944 V-8 project. I currently have too many projects and have to make space. So. I am selling the 944. Here's what I know. It has a clean title. I bought the car not running. The past owner parked the car do to a transmission issue. The last time it was licensed was 2007. The brake calipers were also locked up. I have since then installed rebuild calipers all the way around. I also drained the gas tank and installed a new battery and points and condenser. The motor does run. However. it will need further tuning as it has been sitting for several years. I have read that the NA transmission is not able to stand up to the HP from the V8. I also read the turbo transmission. and radiator from a like year S or Turbo model is a much better setup to handle the V8 power .
Over all condition is good but. will require minor body work and repaint of the exterior. Color is red. but faded. Brown interior. Dash is cracked due to sun. Front windshield is cracked. all other glass good. Dual exhaust. missing one chrome tip on driver's side. Only one of the electronic fans is working based on my observation. Missing back deck lock. No stereo. Again. this is a project car. It needs some TLC but the hard part is done.
An 944 with V-8 old school power. it doesn't get any better than that.
Ford V8 engine number D20E-6015-AB which appears to be a 1972 302 motor. It does have an Edelbrock manifold and 4 barrel carburetor with manual choke. Otherwise. I believe the motor is stock.
Total mileage is unknown. Odometer indicates 45. 08. You and I both know there's more mileage than that.
I have not ever driven the car. Only fired the motor in a garage setting. I have no other history for the car.
This car is sold as is with no warranty and will have to be trailed to its new home.
No reserve.
