I am looking to sell my 1947 Mercury convertible.  It's a bit of a project. and I just don't have the room. time. or money to take care of it.  I would also like to get it into someone's hands who would actually take care of it.  A little info on it:
Clean title in hand. physical matching vin on frame.  Unknown miles on engine and transmission.  Engine runs. transmission goes into all gears.  This vehicle DOES NOT DRIVE at this time.  Parts needed to my knowledge are as follows.  radiator. radiator fan. exhaust pipes.  side steps.  ignition lock cylinder. new upholstery (has slight smoke smell).  This vehicle has moved from many hands and places over the years. so I am trying to be as accurate as possible. nbsp;there may be missing parts that I am not aware of.
The soft top is in great shape as well as the body. chrome. and interior.  That said. these things are not perfect and need work.  The pictures show missing paint. scuffs. surface rust spots. missing button from the top. as well as scratches where the hood has been taken off and moved around. (The hood is not bolted on. )  It does need new paint. and some TLC. It has been stored inside the last 15+ years. I do have it outside at this time due to lack of space.
My grandpa bought it back in the day and pulled the original flathead v8 out of it and replaced it with what I believe is a 1966  ford 289 v8.  Fast forward a few more years and I decided to rebuild the engine. rebuilt the 4 barrel carb. replaced the gas lines. installed a new master brake cylinder and cleaned the gas tank.  Over the years I misplaced the keys for it so I removed the lock cylinder to unlock the steering wheel. You are able to start it with the switch and push button.
With a little work this vintage car's value can sky rocket!  This car running at low retail price starts at 26k.  average retail is 40k!!  Referenced from nada classic car pricing. nbsp;hagerty. com prices it. fair 30k. good 41k.  My main reason behind selling it is my wife and I have our first baby on the way and could use the extra money.  It's a beautiful car and has amazing potential! I would like it to be enjoyed by someone instead of sitting in the driveway.  No trade offers please.  PM me with anymore questions or inquires.  Thanks for looking!
