This is a customised and rebuilt 1984 Corvette. just needs paint to finish her off.

Suspension / Chassis:

Polyurethane suspension bushes on all A-Arms. Anti-Roll / Sway Bar. Rear Suspension arms. and Differential Carrier mounting brackets.

After market custom steering column shaft to eliminate steering play in old design cars of this make for the telescopic stock steel shaft.

Re-built power steering rack.

With the Simmons aluminium wheels and low profile Bridgestone Potenza tires the handling should speak for itself with no steering play at all - whatsoever!! I enjoyed driving it this way for many years. Not the regular 1984 Vette you would find on the market today that dances around on worn roads. You get the classic car with modern handling of today's demands. A set of decent shocks would finish it off nicely. but I did replace the stock ones a couple of years ago and there is nothing wrong here.

Brakes replaced - OEM Callipers. Rotors and Pads all round.

Stainless steel braided brake hoses all round.

Engine - all the below has about 24. 00 miles on it since rebuild:

Block is standard size. did not require re-boring from machine shop as they said I would be wasting my time. You'll see from the photo's I did paint it during assembly.

Crankshaft is ground to 10 thou. under.

New bearings - Mains and Big Ends.

New High Compression Pistons - 100 thou. dome over stock size.

New High Volume High pressure Oil Pump. Normal driving pressure around 70 - 80 PSI.

New Remote Oil Cooler - All aircraft aluminium fittings with stainless steel braided hoses. All housed in neat aluminium and stainless steel fixtures.

Cylinder heads re-faced.

New Torquer II Inlet manifold.

New Crane 3/4 race camshaft and hydraulic lifter kit.

New valves fitted - exhaust and inlets.

New 1:6 Ratio Aluminium roller bearing rockers.

New Chevrolet Aluminium tall rocker covers to accommodate roller rockers.

New Guide plates/Pedestals and push rods.

New double roller Camshaft timing chain and gears.

New camshaft bushes installed in block.

Engine idle is rough - drag racing style!!

Additional aluminium vacuum canister fitted with vacuum gage to compensate for brake power booster loss during driving around town.

New Holley 670 CFM street Avenger 4 Barrel Carburetor (on an 1984 Cross fire fuel injection Vette ??) - yes - I converted the old inefficient fuel injection system to a more powerful horsepower for your buck. back to the old muscle power but with a better designed chassis and suspension kit that gives a good overall balance of car of this age to make an enjoyable drive.

All new aircraft aluminium fuel fittings. Russel Fuel Filter. stainless steel braided fuel hoses with regulator and fuel pressure gage mounted at the front above the oil cooler with neat aluminium and stainless steel fixtures.

K&N 1000 CFM Air filter - lifetime - oil (with the Holley Carb and Torquor II inlet manifold. the viper one was the only one I could find to fit under the hood). For those of you unfamiliar with this. it is the type you use a recharge kit on to clean and oil it once a year.

MSD Billet HEI distributor and coil - configurable for different ignition advance curves. It is currently calibrated for maximum performance and drive ability around town.

MSD 8. 5mm Spark Plug leads.

High performance Harmonic fluid crankshaft damper with more accurate ignition timing marks.

Replaced starter and solenoid and alternator sometime ago - the usual on these.

Replaced new air pump - not that it is required on this engine.

Automatic Transmission:

Transmission had COMPLETE overhaul. new clutches. seals. and trick shifter reprogramming kit put in during the transmission rebuild for a more firm positive shift. Hydraulic oil pump was replaced also.

Torque Converter was re-built with new clutches from transmission shop.

Limited Slip Differential had new bearings/bushes and seals replaced by transmission shop - still has original pinion gears. Clutches replaced (no chatter when hot!). Gears didn't warrant replacement.

This should be one of the fastest 84 Vette's on the market. but a comfortable drive too for a Sunday trip out - that's what I built it for.

Other:

The OEM Leather seats I had re-covered in Connolly black hide with a centre piece. I installed new carpets (not OEM) a couple of years ago in the forward wheel wells and centre console sides so it is pretty clean.

Head Lamp motor assemblies rebuilt and work perfectly.

A/C works "okay" - but not like the newer cars of today's generation.

Borla stainless steel exhaust system from center T-Piece after cat. Converter with stainless steel mufflers and tips.

Replaced OEM radiator.

All universal joints on center propshaft and rear half propshafts replaced.

Car comes with Kenwood CD Player and Kenwood Speakers (originals not hooked up).

Grant after market steering wheel.

Dashboard:

One of the inherited problems with an 84 Vette is the stock LCD digital display screen - no more!

I re-manufactured the facia panels from sheet steel. covered in foam and black leather to match the dashboard and housed the new analogue gages in for reliability and a more classic look. I used white faced autometer gages from Summit Racing for RPM. Coolant Temperature. Fuel Level. Speedometer (only comes in Miles). Oil Pressure. Oil Temperature. Transmission Temperature and Voltage. Check the photo's.

Car DOES Need paint - it's the original silver paint it was manufatured by Kentucky.

I've owned this car for almost 20 years now and hardly drive it. which means it is time to let her go to a new owner who would appreciate her.

Note about mileage: New installed analogue speedometer has 23597 miles on it. I recall the old stock digital screen had around 60. 00 miles on it.
