MG METRO TURBO   15. 69 miles from new. Two previous Owners.

A timewarp  car in the true sense of the word.   This little pocket rocket has a fascinating history.   Purchased new on 23rd March 1988 by a Mr Cyril Anthony from the local main Austin Rover agents James Windsor & Son of Mansfield. Nottinghamshire.   Finished in Black with Osprey interior.

Mr Anthony was at this time 67 years old and the little car was used sparingly in his retirement.   Taxation class was certified as disabled. and unfortunately he was only able to enjoy the car for a little over two years. nbsp; before then being parked in his garage for the next sixteen years untouched.

This Metro Turbo is therefore highly original. with factory paintwork with the exception of the bonnet which has been repainted and the rear valance which I will come to later.   You will find small touch ins to the paintwork and some results of long term storage. but my opinion it is how it left the factory and they are only original once. Side decals are the factory applied ones. and the interior is superb. unworn and untouched with the drivers heel mat unmarked.

It has the factory standard tilt and removable sun roof and the unused stowage bag is present in the boot.   Central locking which is all working and correct radio.

I have owned the car since 2008 and the majority of this time up to present day the car has been stored away.   It did have an MOT in 2007 by the previous owner who purchased it from the family of the original owner. so three owners now to date.   The second owner kept the car around 18 months.

It was decided towards the end of 2015 this Metro Turbo had now had enough time in slumber mode. so it was despatched to Austin Garages of Tattenhill. Nr Burton upon Trent for a total re commission and full service.    To give an idea of the work carried out. it was treated to a new petrol tank. fuel pump. battery. exhaust. vacuum advance unit. new set of correct size 165 x 60 x 13 tyres. radiator. wheel bearing. wiper blades. fuel sender unit. front discs and pads and numerous other items such as hoses. bulbs etc and of course a full service including brake fluid change.   This was completed in March 2016 at a cost of £ 1523. 16 (excluding the majority of new parts which were supplied by myself and totalling over £1000).    A new MOT was obtained on 27th February 2016 with no advisory items listed. and the little Turbo now performs the best it has done since 1991.

The car comes complete with its original book pack of handbook. service book. consumer guide. in car entertainment guide and supercover membership card .   There are also early bills on file from James Windsor and son for service and warranty work carried out on the car.    The spare wheel is also original and unused. albeit a steel wheel due to Austin Rovers cost cutting at the time.   The James Windsor & son supplied number plates are still present on the car.

The condition of the car is excellent original and untouched. It has previously been mentioned the bonnet has been repainted. and there has also been a repair carried out on the rear valance.   This was mainly due to the fact that Austin Rover never managed to paint the lip at the bottom of the valance correctly. and due to the passage of time it has become perforated.   This was remedied with a section of a NOS rear panel being cut out and expertly blended in with all the correct spot welds to the effect that you would not know it had been touched. Other than this the car has never seen any previous repairs .   The underside is excellent and untouched. and all panelwork is original to the car.

E190 CTV certainly presents a step back in time and receives admiring glances wherever she goes. and must represent one of the most original Metro Turbos remaining.   Viewing is available by prior appointment up until the auction end time.    The auction will not be ended early. and the car is not advertised elsewhere.

A £ 250 deposit via paypal is requested within 24 hours of the auction end.   Payment of the balance and collection is expected within 7 days.  Cash or bank transfer only.   Transport throughout the UK is a possibility. as I know of a local transport company which can handle this.   A quotation can be arranged for you if requested.

For overseas buyers I would respectfully ask that you contact me first before placing a bid.
