In the mid 70's to the mid 80's I was a 1934 Oldsmobile advisor for the National Oldsmobile Club of America. during those years and beyond I bought. sold and parted out at least 14 1934 Oldsmobiles. My first full restoration was sold to the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas Nv.
During those years I talked to 1934 Olds owner's from all over the world. so when I located this car in Austerlia. I was very interested especially when I found out that only 86 of them was built. The Chassis with motor & trans was built in the U. S. and then shipped to Austerlia to be fitted with a 1934 Oldsmobile Tourer Body Manf. by the Holden Body Co. At that time I heard that as many as 5 where thought to be around. but in recient talks with car collectors in Aust. it seems like only 1 is known of in Austerlia plus the one I got in 1980. Thats right I have owned this car for 33 years. and it has always been in dry storage inside. over the last 3 years I have disassambled the car. had the part's all dipped. primed them while doing some body work and putting the car back together. When I got the car I did not get a motor or transmission with it. The shipping cost added a lot of expense and I felt I could easly find a motor and transmission here in the U. S. several guy's where building street rods and at that time I knew of 34 Olds motors for sale.
Some years ago I bought a rolling chassis for a 34 Olds that had been street rodded. late model Chev. rear. Mustang 11 front suspension with disc brakes and rack & pinion steering. Master cyl and brake lines installed. 4 bar rear suspension. all I had to do was lift the body off one frame and put it on the other. this also took care of the right hand stering problem. it now has a late model tilt steering collumn with the shifter on the collumn. as it now sits it's a partly done street rod BUT I KEPT the original 34 Chasseis that the body came on. it too has always been stored inside. my price includes both chassis. and all the parts I have for this car including the folding top that came on this car. The street rodded chassis is also set up with Chevrolet V-8 motor mounts as well as transmission mounts for a G. M. 700 R-4 transmission.
